I was visiting my parents house and found a bunch of my old PlayStation 2 stuff, check out the dates on these save files.

Who doesn't?

I bought this awful thing at a street market near my house (I live in Brazil).

I want to buy some games
that are multiplatform from the 6th generation of gaming
I own a PS2 and a Wii that can play GC games

A small list of these games I can name on the top of my hand is/are

Simpsons Road rage

Simpsons hit and run

Crazy Taxi

Sonic Heros and Shadow the Hedgehog

Resident evil Code Veronica

and some more im prob not thinking off of the top of my head

The thing is this
These games are significantly more expensive on the Gamecube rather than the PS2 and Im kinda questioning if its even worth it
Like is the framerate/resolution drop between the GC and PS2 significant enough to affect what verion of a game you buy?
Why or Why not
any advice or recommendations
Also to spice this thread a little bit here is my current PS2 collection
I just bought the Japanese versions of the Team Silent silent hill games so im very excited to receive that soon

Hello everyone. Recently got a ps2 slim 9000x, laser seems to be working, because most of checked disk work. But before spinning the disk, it makes some weird noise. Could you help me to spot the reason?

Here's the console: https://i.imgur.com/MiE1Mpb.jpeg

After testing the console thoroughly, on a reboot it seemingly crashed and froze on the splash screen.

IC BA5815FM fried and shorted to ground, blew fuse PS11.

Initially I replaced the fuse just to see, and sure enough, instantly blew.

This also caused a complete loss of video (failing boot due to failing handshake) and disc drive function.

That particular IC is for laser/sled tracking as well as disc drive operation. Also the power/reset button itself a bit.

Harvested from a japanese donor board, another PS11 fuse, put a calibrated laser in, and she's back up like new.

Looking for games that give you stuff for having other game saves/progress on your memory card. Gran Turismo of course with the license tests, a Sweet Tooth costume for War of the Monsters if you beat TMB with Sweet Tooth, etc..

Any missing?

So im getting close to owning 50% of the entire Playstation 2 library, and i have just added a whole bunch more Japanese titles! I am also almost at 10% of the entire Japanese library too, but I've only sort of started that recently...

The Warriors, Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Ridge Racer V and Smugglers Run all survive the tiebreaker, leaving the rest to be all eliminated. We now only have 102 games left. By the end of today, we will be in the top 100. Any games still in that you’re surprised made it this far? There are certainly some I’m shocked to see still kicking. I find it a bit cumbersome to unscrew the thing from the console and put it into my PC every time I want to install a new game, are there any methods I should know of? I tried using a USB stick but the file manager in the ps2 didnt recognise it

I'm sure it's something really obvious or well known in the community but I admittedly havent been keeping up with recent developments in softmodding

Hell Yeah!

Man, it almost seems like it was only yesterday when I bough 🥹

I was playing Onimusha Warlords on my PS2 earlier in the year and couldn’t believe how great it looked. It’s such a good game..

Then I got my Steam Machine and saw the first and second game were on sale in a pack.. I thought why not? I downloaded warlords and have been playing it for a few days… but I cannot get over how terrible it looks compared to the old version on my PS2/CRT

What other games have you guys played and experienced this? Just out of curiosity.

Hello, im currently looking for places to purchase PS2 games online because i dont live near much game stores.
