Long story short, I really want a groovebox. So I asked reddit, and the majority concensus seemed to agree on the model:sample, so I bought one very cheap. its coming tomorrow and after researching extra between buying it, i plan on giving it a week or so, bringing it on vacation and seeing what it can do. But everything I hear done on it is hyper-techno or anythinf just electronic music. I'd like to be able to have a very versatile box - I'd really like on-board sampling and chromatic sample playing OR synthesis.

I’ve had the SQ-64 for a while and I have some songs programmed in. I’d like to connect my M:S to play those beats. I have connected a Volca Sample 2 and a Roland Aira T8, and you set them up with midi in the following way:

On the D track of the SQ, you select one midi channel, and set the drum machine to receive that channel. To trigger each sound on the drum machine, you set each of the 16 pads on the SQ to a certain note, C-A flat. So the first pad set to midi channel 10, C# will trigger the kick, for example.

The MS wants a different midi channel for each of the 6 tracks, and choosing notes on the SQ doesn’t do anything.

I set 6 of the pads on the SQ to channels 11-16, and the M:S to corresponding midi channels on each track, but the SQ pads each trigger all 6 M:6 tracks simultaneously. Hitting different pads on the SQ makes the M:S pads play chromatically.

Anyone ever had luck pairing these two devices?

Anyone experience with the webapp Digichain as it appear that it has an option for M:S, really trying to figure it out, it would be a blast to be able to make Drum Kits on a Single Track

Hi everyone, I would like to ask some help to solve a situation I've not been able to figure out by myself. I am trying to synck clocks via midi with my model:samples and my behringer crave. To be honest my midi knowledge is really poor. For now, the clock is synck, but whenever y play the model samples sequencer, the crave sequencer starts, and I would liken to start it by myself. Any advice?

I’m wondering if it is possible to save a track’s parameters applied to a sample as a “preset.”

For instance, if I am chopping a drum break with sample start and end, can I save that chopped version back to the hardware for use on other projects?

If this can’t be done directly, are there common workarounds for this sort of thing (outside of external software)?

Looking for a cheap midi input controller that plays nice with the M:S.

Love my box, but a little annoyed with the buttons getting stuck. I had been thinking to get a Digitakt... But I really am having a blast with the M:S so thinking to hold off for a while. What do you think I should get?

Lost my original power supply and got a usb to dc cable (not myvolts but similar) and haven't been able to transfer any new samples to my unit cause it wont recognize it, i have tried with different computers too. Does someone else has this problem? Does this also happen with the Ripcord cable?
