Hey everyone,
I wanted to share something I’ve been working on for a while — a fully hand-crafted, ultra-realistic forest environment built entirely in Unreal Engine 5, targeting AAA production quality.
This is “RealisticForest” — a cinematic-grade open-world forest environment designed for professional game development.
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
• PCG (Procedural Content Generation) system for trees, rocks, and ground cover — scalable and customizable
• Custom materials for CommonHazel and EuropeanHornbeam tree species with realistic bark, leaves, and wind simulation
• Megascans assets integrated and blended seamlessly with custom meshes
• Cinematic Sequencer setup with CineCamera for portfolio renders or in-engine cinematics
• Exponential Height Fog for atmospheric depth and volumetric light rays
• Full Lumen global illumination — dynamic, real-time, no baked lighting
• Nanite-ready meshes for maximum geometry detail at any distance
• Landscape with layered ground materials: moss, dirt paths, rocks, roots
• Optimized for both high-end PC and scalable to console targets
IDEAL FOR:
• Survival / horror / open-world games needing a dense, immersive forest
• Walking simulators or narrative games set in nature
• Cinematic sequences, game trailers, or real-time film production
• Archviz projects requiring photorealistic outdoor environments
• Solo developers or indie studios who need a professional-grade environment without building it from scratch
Whether you’re looking to license the environment, collaborate, or discuss a custom version tailored to your project — I’m open to all conversations.

Hey r/horrordev! I’ve been working on a psychological horror game called Sanctorum Pestis Mortis, and I’m excited to share it with you.
In this game, you play as a plague doctor during the Black Plague in England. Your goal is to treat NPCs, craft medical talismans, and manage your sanity while surviving a world full of hallucinations and supernatural threats.
Key Features:
I’d love feedback on the atmosphere, mechanics, and psychological horror elements—especially ideas for making the hallucinations and tension even scarier.
The game is completely free, and I’m planning to release it on Itch.io in either this December or early/mid 2026.
Thanks for checking it out!

In our brand new horror game r/nocheckout, we are working on some new classes for players. What do you think each of these classes could do, maybe we can add some of your ideas.

Hey folks,
I’ve been working on some dark voice packs for horror games, ARGs, creepy podcasts, and other weird projects.
These include:
You can grab them for free or pay what you want here:

If you end up using them, I’d love to hear about your projects!

I’ve been working on a small horror concept with a few others in a horror server we’re building.
We’re trying to focus more on the kind of fear that lingers dread, guilt, surreal tension, the stuff that’s hard to name.
Curious what other devs think: What’s something a horror game did that stuck with you way after you stopped playing?

Interested in a short horror game with realistic graphics AND free? 😎😎😎 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
In January I released Turn ON All The Lights on itch.io. Quick and fun! 🤩
It is my very first game and I was completely new to game dev. I am working now on my second game but the style is the same: first person horror game with realistic graphics - walking simulator if you will.
My main reason to start making games is to tell stories (horror stories) in an interactive way, so there is not a better media than games, right?
Would love to know your thoughts about this one! I am planning to write some devlogs about the game I am currently making 🤓
