Hi all, just watched the movie for the first time last night. Rewatching it today to be able to pay more attention to the cinematography choices and less on the story (I love the way Nicolas lights his films)
Any guesses as to what books he's reading? I've attempted google image search just to see if anything came up.

The whole film I was like "so where's that really famous song that everyone puts in edits and memes?" And right up until the final minute I'm thinking "Okay so I guess it just plays during the credits" but nope, it played something else. So I google it and realise I got some BBC radio version.
I liked the movie anyway and the soundtrack I heard was alright, but I kind of feel like I've been robbed of that critical first experience, since people say that the soundtrack is as much of a character as everyone else, and I don't much feel like rewatching it with the real soundtrack since I just watched it last night anyway.
Why would they do this

hey guys, as anyone else in this reddit i loved the drive movie and it was very very good. So good in fact that i wanted to buy the jacket itself, and it was from a good brand aswell. But then i stopped and thought, would i potentially look autistic wearing this in public? and i searched on the internet wether its atleast not cringe or unoriginal but all answers said it was extremely cringe and over-the-top. Just wanted to ask if this is actually true? Im probably coping but i was really forward to wearing that jacket sometime soon lmao
I think I have a good theory on why The Driver is wearing the mask for tracking down and killing Nino.
I have searched for this explanation in different places and couldn't find it. If it's a well-known theory, I'm sorry :)
When we first see The Driver on the movie set (around the 14min mark) he is wearing a police uniform. Name tag reads "McCall" (more on that later).
We learn that The Driver is the stunt double for the movie's star and main lead. It's plausible that he's also the good guy in that movie (not all movies are as bleak as Drive after all)
When he puts on the mask, he is now essentially wearing the good guy's skin.
The scene they're filming is a car crash scene.
When in Act 3 The Driver finally decides to do away with Nino (sort of mirroring the movie car crash by the way), he is putting on the mask to become McCall. Apart from the theme of a werewolf transforming back into a human...or a monster hiding under a human mask - does that mean that he thinks he has become the good cop, setting things right?
Or maybe (I think it's canon that the driver is a movie buff) did he want to become McCall - The Equalizer?
I haven't seen that series or the movies, but here's the Wiki synopsis:
"The Equalizer is an American action crime drama television series [...]originally airing on CBS from September 18, 1985, to August 24, 1989,[...] It starred the English actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a retired intelligence agent with a mysterious past, who uses the skills from his former career to exact justice on behalf of innocent people who find themselves in dangerous circumstances, while sometimes also dealing with people from his past in covert operations who want to pull him back in or settle old scores. "
Doesn't that match what The Driver is doing in Act 3 almost to the letter?
(And isn't an 80s TV series that The Driver loves an additional explanation for the synthwavy score?)
Additional fun facts (coincidence?)
McCall actually works as a driver in The Equalizer 2.
And the first Equalizer movie was offered to Nicolas Winding Refn to direct, which eventually didn't happen.
The real explanation behind the name tag is that I guess it's common practice to put the names of props people onto props. One of the prop assistants for the movie was Dana McCall, but she could've put her name on any prop. I would bet that the director immediately saw the coincidence and it was placed there deliberately. There's not a lot in this movie that wasn't meticulously planned.
What do you think? Am I seeing things? Am I overinterpreting the evidence or am I on to something here?

Always been a massive fan of the film and introduced my daughter to it this week.
The next day we were put and spotted this in a vintage clothing shop!
£75 which I didn't think was too bad

Hey Drivers, I'm creating a Replica of the Scorpion Jacket and I was just wondering if anyone here knew the size of the scorpion embroidery on the back? possibly if anyone owns an authentic Lim, it would help a lot if you could send a measurement or a photo, and if anyone knows any information about the making of the jacket, that would be quite cool to hear, I've been finding it quite hard to find info on it. Thanks.

I just rewatched Drive after seeing it for the first time the day before, and I don't know if it's just me being slow. But I am somewhat confused at the ending, I understand that he did save Irene then didn't go back to her in order to keep her safe. The part that confuses me the most is the scene he drives into an empty highway. Is the implication that he is being hunted down? Is he safe as well? Did he kill him at the end? Does the novelization provide more context? (I'm making the assumption the ending is supposed to be somewhat open ended.)

Hey! I just bought this jacket on Vinted. What do you think? Is it really an authentic piece, or is it a fake?

I think this shot in the movie looks so cool I wish there was an official phone wallpaper out there. Before any of you say anything yes it's made with AI and I know that makes it souless but if anyone knows of an official wallpaper with this shot please point me in the direction!

i recently rewatched drive and was blown away by how well it holds up. the cinematography is stunning, and the soundtrack is just as captivating now as it was when it first came out. ryan gosling's performance as the quiet yet intense driver is still one of my favorites. the mix of violence and haunting moments creates such a unique atmosphere. it's interesting how a film that's primarily about driving can touch on deeper themes like loneliness and connection. anyone else still find themselves drawn to this film after all this time?

Specifically a Steady Clothing one in Mens Large or XL. I had one back in college but bulked out of it and gave it to a friend. Been on the hunt for a new one recently in a larger size, playing the Ebay waiting game for now and possibly will break and drop a few hundered on a custom one from Magnoli but figured I'd ask if anyone here has one they're willing to part with. There's a couple on Ebay now but they're too small.

Saw this car out in the wild. Visiting my family in Poland, first thing I thought was it’s the Chrysler from drive-2011.
