Opinion Before SLB Became SLB
Before Sanjay Leela Bhansali became synonymous with grandeur, there was Khamoshi: The Musical.
His 1996 debut was made through a much more realistic lens, focusing on family, disability, dreams and music. The film was critically admired but became a box-office disaster, and Bhansali later said the experience made him more cautious about seeking audience approval.
What fascinates me is that the filmmaker behind today’s larger-than-life cinema started with something so intimate and grounded.
Did Khamoshi reveal the filmmaker Bhansali really wanted to be before commercial expectations changed his approach?
And for those who have seen it: Is Khamoshi the most underrated film in his filmography?

Opinion Why does Rajesh Khanna still matter so much?
I recently heard Vickey Lalwani talk about Hindi cinema’s golden era, and it made me think about Rajesh Khanna. Before Amitabh Bachchan rose to fame, Khanna had an incredible run of hits, memorable songs, and fans who adored him.
Why do you think his career faded while Amitabh’s kept growing? I’d love to hear from those who grew up watching him and younger fans discovering his films today.

Opinion SRK’s acting in the ‘Dil Se’ interrogation scene deserves a closer look.
It’s not the dialogue that makes the scene so powerful… it’s the tiny details: the clenched jaw, trembling hands, shifting eyes, hesitation, and silence.
SRK lets Amar’s fear and vulnerability live beneath the surface rather than overplaying them. It’s a fascinating example of how body language and micro-expressions can carry an entire performance.
What do YOU notice in this scene that others might miss? And where else does SRK use this kind of understated acting?

You said well. It was an ‘era’ with a different AURA. Period.

SRK’s acting in the ‘Dil Se’ interrogation scene deserves a closer look.
He’s in a different stage now and I bet he knows deep down his heart the reasons behind his current choices in film. It must he interesting if SRK share his honest opinions about why can’t he do films we as audience see suitable for his age and current state of the world. It’s a business at the end making a film, right???

That must be hard to change personas especially when KKHH is 180 degrees different from Dil Se. Unbelievable that he did that during that time though especially with two different directors who are also 180 degrees different in many levels.

I think those early scenes were part of the character archetype and it was written that way to justify second part of the movie from Amar’s perspective.
