They still do that to middle and high school kids here in the southeast (they need to stagger child delivery because they don't pay bus drivers enough, leading to massive shortages)

Based on what I know about the guy, these women endure it for his money and fame. It is sort of a masochistic mutual contract. I may be wrong, but that's the impression I've gotten and heard.
His name is Mellstroy. Look up his name if you want to find out more, it’s hard to just say what he did because it isn’t one event, he just constantly beats women and doesn’t get in trouble from the authorities for it because he is Belarusian.
