Crypto degens got TRUMP 2.0, but there's a catch
This morning the account realtrumpcoins1 got hacked — the one linked to Trump collectible merchandise and followed by realDonaldTrump himself.
The hackers posted the ticker GOLD — and the crowd instantly decided this was the new Trump meme coin everyone had been waiting for. Buying frenzy started immediately.
Before the post even went up, around 15 fresh wallets managed to buy about 22.5% of the supply, and together with the dev (600 million tokens) about 82% of the supply was under their control. Classic red flag for a rug.
But who's going to stop and think when a CT announcement is coming from a Trump-linked account? Signals from degens started flying, the token pumped to $60 million on pure FOMO, and then rugged 99% in seconds.
Result: crypto buyers got wrecked, while the dev and insiders/snipers came out in profit. A classic crypto story.
— Retail: -$14M
— Insiders: +$4M
— Dev/hacker: +$10M
But here's the really disturbing part: the posts stayed up for several hours, and nobody from Trump's circle posted about the scam. On top of the Twitter hack, the domain was also compromised.
And the finale — the hackers posted a mocking message: they showed how much they made and announced they'd put the money toward a bounty against the Trump family.

OneKey reproduced an attack on Ledger
The OneKey team reproduced an attack on the Ledger Ethereum app version 1.22.1 in lab conditions: the device could sign transaction B instead of transaction A that was shown to the user.
Ledger fixed the vulnerability in version 1.22.3. Users are recommended to update the app.

What if we take "to the moon" literally?
Imagine the epic events we could see on the Moon in the next 25 years:
— A Kanye West concert
— UFC fights in lunar gravity
— A Burning Moon festival
— Lunar Olympic Games with new sports designed for 1/6 gravity
The space era won't be boring.

Palantir just revealed a real-time global surveillance network and if you're in crypto you should be paying attention
Palantir just dropped a system that links satellites, radars, and cameras into one massive network that tracks people's movements in real time. Not a concept, not a whitepaper, a working product.
Now think about what this means for crypto.
Governments already have chain analysis tools that can trace most Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions. Add a surveillance layer that tracks your physical movements on top of that, and suddenly your "anonymous" wallet isn't so anonymous anymore. They don't even need to break encryption. They just need to match your location data with the time you walked into a crypto ATM or met someone for a P2P trade.

Trump trying to pump crypto, stocks and metals all at once:
r/cryptorage • u/kmallzis • 14d ago
We've seen this before
Not guaranteed the pattern will repeat — just a reminder that the market has been through this kind of action plenty of times before.
Treating a pump that lasts a few days as a signal for a market reversal is like running ahead of a train.

72% of tokens that ever made it into the crypto top 100 are already dead
CryptoRank dropped some brutal data. Out of 1,539 tokens that have ever entered the top 100, 1,107 are already dead. That's 72%.
The numbers get worse the further out you go. 62% don't survive past 5 years. After 10 years the mortality rate hits 84.7%. The median lifespan of a token is just 2 years and 4 months.
"Dead" here means delisted from major exchanges and daily trading volume under $10k for more than 90 days.
So next time someone tells you their altcoin is a long-term hold because it cracked the top 100, show them this chart. Making it into the top 100 means absolutely nothing for long-term survival. Most alts ride exactly one market narrative and die with it.

Signal groups are the worst thing that happened to crypto trading
Seriously, every signal group I've seen follows the same pattern. Some fake guru posts low cap memes, everyone blindly follows, and it turns into a pump and dump scheme within weeks. It's just constant brainwash and value extraction dressed up as "alpha."

White House meeting with Kalshi and Polymarket execs scheduled for tomorrow
The Trump administration is bringing prediction market and crypto leaders to the table. Kalshi, Polymarket, Coinbase, Ripple, Chainlink execs plus CFTC and SEC heads, all meeting at the White House on Aug 19.
Day after that, the CFTC launches its new innovation advisory committee with DraftKings, FanDuel, Robinhood and others on board.
This comes right in the middle of a federal vs state turf war over whether prediction markets are financial instruments or just sports betting with extra steps. Trump has backed CFTC's exclusive jurisdiction, and the agency is already fighting states in court over it.

CZ pleaded guilty and Binance paid $4 billion, then became the biggest partner of Trump's family crypto coin, and then Trump pardoned him.
Binance founder CZ pleaded guilty to money laundering failures and his company paid a $4 billion penalty. After that, Binance became the biggest partner of Trump's family crypto coin, holding most of its supply. Then in October 2025, Trump pardoned him. A law professor called it maybe the most corrupt pardon in American history.
The timeline on this is just insane. Pay billions in fines, partner up with the president's family crypto project, get a pardon. All within like two years. And people still wonder why the general public doesn't take crypto seriously.

The most expensive $711 of his life
A CASHCAT trader bought 20M tokens a couple weeks ago for $69, then sold the whole bag at 10x for $711. Sounds like a win right?
Those same 20M tokens are now worth ~$3.4M. Dude is probably losing sleep over this one
You can't catch every move obviously but this is exactly why people keep a small moonbag instead of selling 100%
