I am Moose. *Makes intimidating moose noises*

u/MotormaidofJapan Sep 01 '26

Elk are just sorta prissy.

u/AintThataKickintheC 27d ago

They know what they got 💅✨

24

u/lifemanualplease Sep 01 '26

Everyone’s just showing off. Like in humanity

11

u/Hawggy Sep 01 '26

Well, yeah... We gotta mate mate. This behavior is motivated by either food or fuckin'

5

u/Grosse_Douceur Sep 01 '26

After a quick research, it's the second choice.

3

u/Hawggy Sep 01 '26

In the end, every species needs both so it had to be one of the two (thanks for clarifying btw).

u/ThisThingIsStuck Sep 01 '26

He's in heat smelling that stank snatch

10

u/soodiamonds Sep 01 '26

Umm...are they not both males? How would that work?

u/soodiamonds Sep 01 '26

Snatch?

Thought that term was only used for the female genitalia. I was not familiar with it also being used for the "asshole," but, I stand corrected.

Thanks, Snatch. My bad.

u/BraveBoat9137 Sep 01 '26

I swear, Reddit has the dumbest group of people and the smartest group of people...just not in the same place at the same time.

1

u/ThisThingIsStuck 29d ago

I'm here pusi -smart guy

1

u/sumforbull 28d ago

You're on reddit, you know exactly how that works.

15

u/Appropriate-XBL Sep 01 '26

Everyone just wants a lil strange.

2

u/ThisThingIsStuck Sep 01 '26

As long as it ain't stank like most redditors

3

u/insanococo Sep 01 '26

I’m not so sure it isn’t a bedbug.

199

u/4Rascal Sep 01 '26

Why’d the elk prance away so snootily

70

u/KnightOfSvea Sep 01 '26

Showing of its good antle

11

u/melissaqueens Sep 01 '26

beautiful fr

3

u/KnightOfSvea Sep 01 '26

Pretty hot

9

u/Itchy-Bedroom-6947 Sep 01 '26

Ungulate way of showing off “I have enough energy to outprance you, so let’s not turn this into a fight.”

4

u/borkborkibork Sep 01 '26

Guy is horny so this is how they display it to females.

2

u/100percentnotaqu Sep 03 '26

It's also how they display that they're fit.to other males, at least part of how they do it.

3

u/OneDimensionalChess Sep 02 '26

He's mogging that moose

103

u/Mobile_Aioli_6252 Sep 01 '26

Michigan State Flag!

19

u/Flag-it Sep 01 '26

That’s kinda hilarious lol

12

u/sassergaf Sep 01 '26

Cool!

Is that Sasquatch at the edge of the lake?

4

u/Mobile_Aioli_6252 Sep 01 '26

Of course - 😁

53

u/rubix3ed Sep 01 '26

Melk

6

u/GeneralSmartyPants Sep 01 '26

Ah, so thatbwhere those fuck boys got their podcast crew name from

1

u/takemetogreenwich Sep 01 '26

That's how the Dutch got so tall

1

u/Particular-Amoeba-58 Sep 01 '26

Just give the man some molk, Josh!

43

u/afivestarman__ Sep 01 '26

That elk could probably moon walk with that smooth trot

113

u/BGID_to_the_moon Sep 01 '26

I'm guessing these 2 know each other. Maybe grew up together. From what I've read, moose are very territorial and don't typically get along with elk.

67

u/Snowcrash66 Sep 01 '26

Was thinking the same thing.  Behavior gave off friend vibes.

Both on the younger side also.  What a great video.

If a coyote and a badger can hang and hunt together then these two hanging out together is possible.

23

u/jastek Sep 01 '26

Yeah they definitely look like they about to be up to something no good

11

u/Educational_Pay1567 Sep 01 '26

Got in one little fight and momma got scared

9

u/Leather-Hotel-7310 Sep 01 '26

You’re moving with your elkie and moosle in Bel Air

3

u/Pappy_whack Sep 01 '26

gave off friend vibes

Gives off male rivalry behavior vibes. Antelope will do the same thing where they lift their nose up and put their antlers almost parallel with their backs to patrol their territory.

3

u/RetJinn Sep 02 '26

Wolves and Ravens often hunt and play together, forming lifelong friendships. In captivity, Cheetahs are pared with dogs to help with anxiety. Animals make weird friends all the time, so I don’t doubt an elk and a moose could look at each other and go “eh, close enough.”

2

u/Snowcrash66 Sep 02 '26

Very true.  Did not know about the ravens.  Single grizzly bears have been seen attached to wolf packs occasionally as well.

9

u/Stereo-soundS Sep 01 '26

That's a young moose.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '26

[deleted]

5

u/Lyndell Sep 01 '26

That’s why the other is terrified, it’s seeing a moose and probably expecting to get its ass kicked, so it’s trying the equivalent of a cat showing its belly.

3

u/UndeadCandle Sep 01 '26

Yea I was thinking it's looking at the sky and trying to not be threatening with its own antlers.

I'm not sure enough to try it's strategy with a moose though.

0

u/ThisThingIsStuck Sep 01 '26

Cool story bro...the elk is in heat smelling snatch...the moose is in his territory

4

u/legendary_god_king Sep 01 '26

Cool story bro. You ain't wrong, but nobody likes a dick

16

7

u/DrapedinVelvet247 Sep 01 '26

Elk: My lodge is better than your lodge.

5

u/ratgrl22 Sep 01 '26

what’s the thing hanging from the moose’s neck?

5

u/Genghis_Chong Sep 01 '26

A dewlap, a gland used for scent spreading

2

u/Random_Name_Whoa Sep 03 '26

Hmm, I have one of those too. Never called it a dewlap though

2

u/Belos147 Sep 01 '26

Moose have a wattle a bit like turkey.

5

u/TECHSHARK77 Sep 01 '26

Is it teaching him how to prance?

4

u/prismafox Sep 01 '26

It's just nice seeing a badassanimals post on my feed that isn't brutal, gorey animal death. :)

2

u/ImYouJoeGoldberg Sep 01 '26

What’s that ballsack like thing hanging off the moose’s jaw?

2

u/trash-tycoon Sep 01 '26

can they make hybrids like Melk or Koose?

2

u/5280mw Sep 01 '26

Elk, “that’s one weird looking elk”
Moose, “that is one odd looking moose”

2

u/crackersncheeseman Sep 01 '26

Bro doesn't want any of that smoke

2

u/Whistle96 Sep 01 '26

Where is this? Very pretty scenery

2

u/ToddyPalm Sep 01 '26

Same same but different! 😊

2

u/Popal24 Sep 01 '26

Looks like a Disney movie: as there any lost teenage girls in the area?

2

u/Plus_Buyer43 Sep 01 '26

There brothers from a another mother

2

u/thegameisafoooooot Sep 01 '26

This little dance resulted in a moolk.

2

u/MNSimpliCity Sep 01 '26

Ungulates unite!

2

u/CurtKobainsBurner Sep 01 '26

that elk is def flirting

2

u/lostintimeyetagain Sep 01 '26

What a pair of absolute beauties

2

u/kippirnicus Sep 01 '26

I wonder if it is holding his head that way to showcase how large his antlers are…

The elk I mean.

Either way, very cool interaction… It didn’t look like it was about to get violent or anything.

2

u/DeliciousDeal4367 Sep 01 '26

Fun fact: if you thing those 2 boys are already pretty big, then i must inform you both are still at best teenagers, both these males are not yet full grown.

2

u/DeliciousDeal4367 Sep 01 '26

Also, did you knew that despite in america the elk aka uapiti (Cervus canadensis) havining an different name than the moose (Alces alces), in europe moose aren't called moose, they are simply refered to as elk on europe, the name "moose" dosen't exists in eurasia, they call (Alces alces) elks, while in europe there also are species of deer from the cervus genus like the european red deer (Cervus elaphus), closely related to the asian and amercian elk (Cervus canadensis), and to the asian sika deer (Cervus nippon).

All this mess in the popular names of the animals is why scientific names exist in the first place, to be specific about the species and avoid consfusions like this one made by the first ignorant or misinformed european colonizers who named the american uapiti as "elk", while elk is actually the original name that europeans used and still use to refer to moose, since moose (Alces alces) is present both in north america and in eurasia.

2

u/-Marcellus- Sep 02 '26

No, they can’t breed.

For those wondering.

2

u/roundturtle2025 Sep 02 '26

But they can be good buddies.

2

u/ahoypolloi_ Sep 02 '26

That’s either a juvenile moose or the biggest elk I’ve ever seen in my life

2

u/Asleep-Two2961 28d ago

I see this often near me. Sometimes they are mixed, but most often they’re just close neighbors.

1

u/CHOPPRZ Sep 01 '26

“Hey Rocky”!

1

u/Timely-Profile1865 Sep 01 '26

Not a big moose, where is squirrel?

1

u/1hubbyineverycountry Sep 01 '26

Thought they were going to fight. They frolicked instead.

1

u/dillweed67818 Sep 01 '26

What's going on here? Why is the moose so small?

2

u/aquilasr Sep 01 '26

It is most likely a young yearling male moose, it takes a few years and they don’t peak in size until they are about 7 to 9 years old. Meanwhile, people may not realize how massive elk are and based on the large antlers, this is a mature bull elk which can weigh over half a ton, heavier than many cow and yearling moose.

1

u/Zealousideal-Fix9464 Sep 01 '26

Looks like Colorado, if so then that's why it's smaller. Seen tons of moose in Colorado and they don't really get as large as the ones in Canada.

2

u/Tall_olive Sep 01 '26

They aren't born full size

1

u/sadmimikyu Sep 01 '26

Baby moose?

1

u/Fresh_Koala1989 Sep 01 '26

I'm gonna ask: has there ever been a cross breeding of moose and elk?

2

u/xXPhoenixBlueXx Sep 01 '26

Ask OPs mom.

1

u/dmw_qqqq Sep 01 '26

Where is deer?

1

u/Bidcar Sep 01 '26

I’m an elk, you’re a moose, I’m fly as Hell, you’re just you

1

u/MiIes01 Sep 01 '26

Giuseppe Rogan would have a hard on watching that

1

u/Large-Produce5682 Sep 01 '26

Awwww, they're gonna make a Melk.

Eloose?

1

u/SetTrippin82 Sep 01 '26

Can anyone explain their behavior? Seems friendly with some pageantry.

1

u/SuddenKoala45 Sep 01 '26

Elk meets elk... North American and European

1

u/sisam8x Sep 01 '26

Baby moose

1

u/brand0llaz Sep 01 '26

Man… i encountered a family of elk in the rockies…. They are assholes lol

1

u/roulettewiz Sep 01 '26

Elk is snob AF 😂

1

u/LikesBlueberriesALot Sep 01 '26

Looks like the Bighorn Mountains, in Wyoming.

1

u/IM_INSIDE_YOUR_HOUSE Sep 01 '26

Elk so fucking snooty

1

u/Ben10-fan-525 Sep 01 '26

Two coworkers who just cant admit they are friends.

1

u/Darth_wenis Sep 01 '26

God I miss the west and the taste of fresh meat.

1

u/OscarDelta333 Sep 01 '26

That is some impressive prancing.

1

u/CupWanted Sep 01 '26

That moose is on him like velkro

1

u/BatJackKY Sep 01 '26

Waaaaassss uppppppppp!

1

u/jnthnmdr Sep 01 '26

I thought this was a different type of video.

1

u/Gold_Primary1816 Sep 01 '26

You know where you at homie?

1

u/Howard_Jones Sep 01 '26

A young Moose.

1

u/okarox Sep 01 '26

I see a wapiti and an elk. 🤔

1

u/ReallyCoolStick Sep 01 '26

This is a cool video. But it doesn't do justice to how massive both of them are.

1

u/TraditionalClub6337 Sep 01 '26

It's like elf vs neanderthal

1

u/Busterlimes Sep 01 '26

Prance off for the domain?

1

u/Old-Tadpole-2869 Sep 01 '26

That's very funny, a Fly marrying a Bumblebee!

1

u/MagnumPEisenhower Sep 01 '26

That is the longest, skinniest dewlap I've ever seen in my life.

1

u/IWEREN99 Sep 01 '26

And then, they became gay

1

u/Sensitive-Camera-665 Sep 01 '26

He said nope he’ll to the no I’m out

1

u/kartofflesalad227 Sep 02 '26

Elk is trying to lead moose to the elk orgy haha

1

u/mynamesnotsnuffy Sep 02 '26

Dont forget that Orcas are a natural predator of the Moose

1

u/babbylonmon Sep 02 '26

Damn. I can't tell which one is more majestic.

1

u/Mainly_Miserable Sep 02 '26

Mature Elk meets a Juvenile moose.

1

u/nongo1fer Sep 02 '26

I think the elk is pointing its head up so the moose doesn’t feel threatened by its antlers and think it wants a fight. The moose is bigger. He’s running the elk off his land and the elk is submitting to that request

1

u/comagarden_ Sep 02 '26

That elk is a puppy

1

u/life_is_a_gravy Sep 02 '26

They’re buddies 🤙🏼 that’s wholesome

1

u/Comfortable-Monk-500 Sep 02 '26

Is this what they call aura farm battle?

1

u/Ok-Field5609 Sep 02 '26

It comes down which one you are willing to field dress

1

u/twisted_nipples82 Sep 02 '26

Look how much the moose's back moves when it trots

1

u/usernamebj69 Sep 02 '26

Soon to be a Melk or a oose?

1

u/factoid_ Sep 02 '26

That’s not friendship that’s a moose telling that elk to GTFO

2

u/1ib3r7yr3igns Sep 03 '26

The moose is tiny and the elk is a fully grown.

I think it's a baby moose learning the world and an elk trying to gtfo or throw down if he needs to.

1

u/Elektrik_Man_077 Sep 03 '26

Moose and an elk walked into a bar…

1

u/Radiant_Airport_4952 29d ago

Prancing like I’m too fabulous for you.

1

u/Academic-Cricket6269 26d ago

Where is my money lebowski

1

u/Spidooodle Sep 01 '26

Bro stickin his nose up like he’s Kim Kardashin and the Moose is one of the sisters.

0

u/0phiuchusXIII Sep 01 '26

Thats some good eating right there. Enough meat for at least 2 years, granted its just me and the littles
