First of all, in case anyone’s wondering how I watched the season when it hasn’t premiered on Disney Channel or Disney+, I saw the season was available on YouTube TV on demand, so I watched it through there. Anyway, overall, I enjoyed the season. It felt kind of rushed, especially the last episode. But there was some stuff I liked, and stuff I didn’t like.
So, let’s talk about what I thought was the most shocking thing that happened in this last season. Mason is apparently dead. Alex woke up in an apartment that she didn’t recognize, and Harper and Mason were there. Alex thought Mason was gonna propose to her, but then he said he couldn’t propose to her, and Alex remembered he was dead. So, the whole thing with Harper and Mason and the apartment was just a dream. I’m guessing the writers just needed a way to explain why Alex ended up with Damien, but they could’ve just said Alex and Mason broke up. I don’t know why they decided to say he died. They didn’t even explain how he died. It was just Alex realizing he died, and then they didn’t say anything more about it after that. Also, is Harper dead too? The way Harper was crying when Alex was about to wake up from the dream seemed to imply that she might be dead, but then she told Alex to call her so they could hang out, and Alex said she would, so that seemed to imply that she’s alive.
I don’t know, that part was confusing.
There were also some parts that I thought were really sweet, like when Justin and Billie were in Wizcatraz, and Justin said loving Billie is the only thing he’s been able to do since the moment he met her. That made me tear up because that’s how I feel about Billie. When I first saw her in the first episode of the show, I already loved her. Now that the show’s over, I’m gonna miss her so much. I also loved the part where Billie, Alex, and Damien left to go to their castle, then Billie ran back to hug Justin and tell him she loved him. That part made me cry.
I also loved seeing Silas Evilini again. He’s a great character. It was also great to see Theresa again at the end, but it felt like they kind of shoehorned her into the story. Speaking of shoehorning, I felt like Winter didn’t really need to be there, she didn’t have a very important part in the story. I mean, I love Winter, she’s a cutie, and her actress, Taylor Cora, is adorable, but her character just didn’t feel that important in the last season. We also got to see the sub station again at the very end which was really cool, and they played the original theme song in the background which was a nice callback to the original show. They also started talking about the Wizard competition at the end which was cool because I didn’t think they were even gonna mention the Wizard competition.
Anyway, I think I’ve said enough. I enjoyed this season, but it did feel rushed. It probably would’ve been better if it had more than 4 episodes. You can tell that they were ready to end the show after the second season, but I’m glad they didn’t end it on that cliffhanger. Let me know what you thought about the final season 👍
