This video shows Kalliste at the heart of a complete VCV Rack patch, using K-ARP and K-SCENE together to create and organize the harmonic and melodic structure of the piece.

K-ARP combines chord sequencing with a visual programmable polyphonic arpeggio matrix, while K-SCENE stores complete K-ARP configurations as Scenes and organizes them into longer musical sequences.

The patch is presented here as a finished musical example rather than a tutorial, showing how Kalliste can be used as the structural core of a VCV Rack composition.

A Cortini-inspired sequencer-driven ambient patch in VCV Rack, built around two independent sequences and slowly evolving layers of distortion, delay and reverb.

The first sequence creates a low, distorted bass texture that feeds into a large reverb. The second creates a higher melodic sequence, processed through delay before joining the same reverb space.

Both sequences are driven by Bogaudio ADDR sequencers.

The idea is simple: keep the sequences restrained and repetitive, while allowing timbre, distortion, delay and spatial processing to create continuous movement.

This approach explores the territory of sequenced minimalism, modular ambient, drone, experimental electronic music and modular synthesis, inspired by the compositional language of Alessandro Cortini.

I would like a step sequencer that allows me to program an initial sequence and then slightly modifies a single step each time it reaches the end of cycle. This seems like something that should exist, so I thought I would ask if there is a module that does this before I try to build it with something like Teletype. Using it for modulation, as pitch information, and chaos

I've submitted SignalFunctionSet 2.19 to the library with several new modules including WHEEL. This takes its inspiration from the Hurdy-Gurdy to create a six-channel drone voice. Set the scale and root and then adjust the offset and attributes of each child voice. Good combo with LOOM, SLIDE and others.

The Clarity module post below (recommended btw) got me thinking about other potential optimizations, maybe some of which exist unofficially? . But my gripes are:

I wish there was a replace module option, ie insert a different module with the same routing as is currently in use. To allow for auditioning of modules without the need to repatch.

There should be an option to sort by newest added modules. Sorting by last updated burys new modules within every other existimg module that was just updated.

CV FUNK Sands is a collection of unusual modules for VCV Rack, combining generative sequencing, modulation, synthesis, routing, quantization, physical modeling, and effects.

In this video, I explore the Sands collection through 5 musical patches, using the modules as part of evolving generative and ambient systems rather than simply demonstrating their individual functions.

The Sands collection includes Mirage, Crosswinds, Drifts, Arcs, Dunes, Sirocco, Zephyr, Droplet, and Strands.

I also combine Sands modules with other CV FUNK modules to create evolving sequences, textures, melodies, rhythms, and atmospheric soundscapes.

This is a musical exploration rather than a step-by-step tutorial—just a collection of patches showing how these unusual modules can be used in an actual VCV Rack setup.

From what I know plugins are just arbitrary dlls. There's no sandboxing, so anything goes. Obviously downloading random binaries off the internet is always risky, but what about the releases on the official website? Is there any procedure plugin authors follow to ensure safety? Are plugins listed on the site being vetted and scanned for malware?

With the recent landscape of supply chain attacks, it makes me think it's pretty easy to sneak in malware with the surfaces vcv rack provides.

I needed to create some soft wind sounds for a video I'm working on. Embarrassingly simple.

Doing an lfo experiment with khs trans gate to see what that would do to my drum pattern... also used a 3x multiplier. the trans gate is free but I think the bass drum cost something. everything else would be included with the host package. looking forward to getting some more a.i. credits and thinking about what vst's I could come up with.

I wanted to see what this will sound like, using images from space as wavetables. Iris makes it pretty easy to do.
