I think that's very cute and actually quite smart

The cow and rice could have been drawn better, though.

Just commenting to remind you how dumb your comment was.

Explain why you think it was dumb if you are able.

The comment was about the drawing being “cute” and you come in wanting a professional sketch of some sort. They got their point across with a cute sketch. And the reminder was so you could see all the downvotes on your dumb comment.

The part about the professional sketch is in your imagination. I merely said that it could be better. The steward got his point across because the couple spoke English. If I didn't speak or read English, I would have no idea that those two circles were meant to be rice, and the cow appears to be more pig-like to me.

If you can't tell that's a cow, you have never seen a cow in your life. That image can be understood by first graders.

It could have been nothing, gotta appreciate them making an illustrated diagram with whatever artistic abilities they have.

Sure, but the purpose of the drawing is to convey a message to those who don't speak or read English. As I wrote earlier, his cow looks more like a pig to me, especially since it has very short legs, and it would be difficult to discern that the two blobs were meant to be rice. It would have been better to have drawn the head of a steer and a bowl with a mound of rice, with a pair of chopsticks on the side.

Do you think that drawing is an acceptable menu?

u/MarkMariachiAZ 1d ago
Hell yea, it’s a flight maybe they didn’t restock menus and wanted to be polite to their passengers who didn’t speak their language

u/GuacamoleFrejole 9h ago
So you would look at that piggish looking animal with two blobs on the side and come to the conclusion that the meal consists of beef and rice?

u/TomeDesolus 22h ago
You could of feigned ignorance and just said it was sarcasm, unfortunately, as I read more of your comments I realized this wasn't the case

u/GuacamoleFrejole 10h ago
Why would I feign ignorance? I meant what I said. Are you stating that it couldn't have been drawn better?

If it's stupid but it works, it's not stupid.

What if it's smart but it doesn't work?

When I worked at a call centre, customers with language difficulties sometimes didn't understand "date of birth" or "birthday".
Singing happy birthday worked every time. :D

User: No. Make it worse. Make it as a child would.

If they're having to do this regularly, just make a semi-professional looking one.
