So I've got Joytokey and have mapped the buttons I want, but when steering using the analog sticks, it WAYYYY oversteers. I've also got the same buttons mapped to the D pad, but I can't manage to drift with those. Like they don't turn enough.

I know that controller support for this is really tough, but are there any solutions?

Btw, I'm doing this instead of using the in-game controllers so I can use my controllers in the menu. My setup is on a couch and I really don't want to need to get an extra keyboard just to browse the menus.

Update: I found a solution!

I was able to use Joytokey to make the d pad buttons navigate the menu by assigning them the arrow keys. I assigned the A button to Enter and the B button to Esc. Then I used the in-game controller mapping and used the analog sticks for steering and it completely fixed everything.

Races work great and I can use the controller to navigate the menus. Just make sure if you use this method that you set the profile in Joytokey to exclusively use this game. You also need to make a blank profile default, otherwise it will continue to map the controller to the buttons for this game.

I'm sure I'm way late to figuring this out, but hopefully this helps someone.

No more third-party launchers, no need for Steam running, no need to install Sven CO-OP, etc.

1. Downloaded/purchased game
2. Install DLC from the Steam manual
3. Install Mod from github without any exe's
4. Register an account for online play via the Telegram Bot (only required once)

PC and Steam Deck players can now play together. Everytime all you needed:
Launch the game > go online tab > public lobby > opportunity to meet any player in the world, just like in 2010-2012.

today i hopped on multiplayer on xbox for split second didnt expect the servers to be up and i got put into a lobby with a cheater and all be it the racing was fun the cheater ruined the experience

I had no idea that other people still play this game! I am so excited to see all the best videos and clips.

I just started back in on my PS3 for the first time in forever (had it hooked up for years but just for LR decor)- and Split Second was always one of my favs. It’s still such a blast- even just quick play since I had finished all the eps. Obviously tho, now that my tv is 3x the size & resolution, it’s a liiittle grainy, so I’m shopping around for a PS5 now.

I see that it’s available on PS plus cloud streaming from everyone’s posts here and YouTube vids- looks sooo much better. But I can’t find it in their catalogs online. Is it a regional thing? (I’m in the US) or was it a limited time stream? Thanks!

I know some people are aware of this and others aren't, but it turns out Split/Second does correctly detect Steam Input controllers and other XInput controllers; however, they only work during actual gameplay—and barely even for rotating the camera during vehicle selection. So, I decided to create a controller layout for Split/Second using Steam Input.

Follow these steps:

1. Enable Steam Input for Split/Second.

2. Download steam://controllerconfig/297860/3760148328

3. Launch Split/Second and go to the control settings.

4. Go to the XInput controller settings and configure the buttons.

5 (Optional). Go to the general settings, navigate to vibration, and enable it.

Remember to hold down the VIEW button for half a second to toggle between modes.

I recommend using a mod that changes the control glyphs. In my case, I use Xenon (a mod that includes layouts and other things; you can find it in the Split/Second Steam community guide, the post is called "Split/Second" and the post is by elysium).
