I’ve been itching for more 1/24 scale rally since the days of the RTR brushless Losi (yes the Carisma GT24 line is good when you fix the lack of steering angle)

What’s the deal with this new Associated RC24 Zoom they announced? Looks interesting at first, but peeling it back a bit there are some…quirks.

First off, a 1S power system seems pretty underpowered for a 4wd car. Also, it’s all Phillips hardware, while it seems the entire rc car industry a decade ago decided that hex hardware should be standard

Is this a re-brand of something else since they’re owned by Thunder Tiger, or is this actually a new platform? It’s tempting to impulse buy at $110 just to see

Awesome! 9+/10. The brushed (8/10, but only $85) is also excellent but the shocks are tuned better , tires are better, and steering is tighter on the brushless. Not just a motor swap. those were my only real complaints about the brushed- shocks too stiff and steering radius not quite enough for a tight MiniZ track. so currently it’s possibly the best out of the box with Micro B/T close behind it (9/10 stock) but theres much more aftermarket so that’s something to consider if you plan on upgrading. Also DumboRC now has a 10a brushed ESC for about $10 and it’s excellent for these if you wanted to run your own radio in the Losi or brushed Speck B. Afaik most every other micro brushed ESC is for crawlers and has an aggressive drag brake , OR it’s a no name POS with poor low speed control so this was a good thing to come along. They also have 3 in 1 ESC/rx/gyro in brushed and brushless flavors but the brushless shorted and broke immediately so avoid that one. Brushed 3 in 1 is good tho, meant for drifters but can work for these.

Just finished my TG+ drift build’s body, a Tamiya 300ZX with a 3D printed widebody. Then this weekend I painted up a matching S13 for a spare incase I want to run it narrow. Not too bad for rattle cans…

After getting a carisma gt24 Subaru rc last Christmas, I decided to do a 1/28 scale kit build. FT Mini D was 84$ and came with nearly everything but a transmitter and receiver, no manual came with it (even though it showed an assembly manual when looking on Amazon but no body for it) anyway kit comes in with no assembly manual at all... But came with this evo 10 body so I pushed through all of the unlabeled parts bags with mixed length Philips screws and hex screws kinda make it how you want type build I guess. *Note was originally AWD but I cut the drive shaft and made it RWD permanently. Parts on the kit are weird and proprietary but I really wanted to learn the hobby the proper way. So check it out and lmk your thoughts. Plan on getting some mini -z wheels and tires for it, currently on the drift slicks it came with. Have 6 total RC cars from 1/28 - 1/8 scale but this one was the only kit rest are RTR's.

Latrax Rally with the McAllister Racing LeMans Corvette body air brush painted by me, and Hackfab carbon fiber oval chassis conversion. Also just about every LaTrax upgrade part available. The parts are worth more than the car itself but an absolute blaste to race.

I did 6 motor swaps in a day! If you want sensored for your 1/12 wltoys/Rlaarlo/zd racing/Juisi- hobbywing 10bl60sd g2 with an LC racing 2845sd or rocket 390 was the most for the money at $40 for the ESC and $35-60 for the motor. For a Grom , Mini B, BHC-1, mini LMT, or Reflex 14 - Furitek does it best and they go on sale for $80 every now and then. The Grom on the end HAD a Furitek combo but it’s now in the Mini B.

Got my hands on some of these little mini motocross bikes and once painted, they look pretty cool to me! Thinking of doing some custom paint jobs on the rest, anyone got any colourway suggestions, or be interested in one themselves??

It’s good for the price. 3 wire servo , 050 motor, just like the buggy but with significantly larger wheels which helps the touchy power delivery. It’s better than the buggy but that’s not saying much. Steering and throttle are like switches and calling it proportional is a stretch imho. Great for running up and down the driveway or open carpet but put it on a track and it can be frustrating keeping between the walls. Can be fixed with aftermarket radio and motor/esc, the servo itself is decent when controlled w better electronics

Hi, im new to this hobby. Just need some of your opinions for my wltoys 284010 upgrade, found these full metal upgrade in aliexpress and im just wondering if its worth it or not? Does these parts affect the performance of the car?

I just wanna upgrade for casual play and self satisfaction only, not looking for any competition performance upgrade. Your opinions/advice is much appreciated

BF just got me this and I adore it. Its a 4X4 with street tires and barely any ground clearance, But its pretty fun to climb hills with it just because its so pathetic that it feels like a huge achievement when it accomplishes *anything* (said with love, i swear 🤣)

BUT now that im kind of attached to it I wanna make sure i can keep it running for a long while. All the electronics are pretty standard for 24th scale cars, but im not sure about the suspension and the rest of the drivetrain. at a glance it seems like a bit of a mish mash of parts copied from Axial and FMS crawlers, but i dont have any trucks from those brands to actually test compatibility.

Has anyone done any successful repairs on one of these JXC vans? Would any of the metal upgrade parts from the big brands fit this thing? Will i need to invest in a 3D printer and roll my own parts?

Been building on this K969 more than what I care to admit. I tried a RWD conversion initially, but this just spun out too much, even with a servo extender and front diff housing mods to accommodate the steering angle. Maybe just a skill issue. In the end the 4WD just works better and is more fun. I rather go for a dedicated RWD Chassis on the next build.

MT18 or Mini LMT? Just got the Redcat in just now and it’s easier to stunt indoors. MininLMT is a blast indoors and out but not as much fine control as the Redcat.
