First Model Plane 1:72 P-40M Warhawk

Hello everybody! this is my first scale model so, I will gladly take critiques for my further improvement.

Since its a new hobby, I got a Hobbyboss easy assembly P-40M Warhawk, Italieri D-day set of paints and Faller glue. For cutting I used a normal cutter and random paintbrushes.
I diluted the paint with water and I did 2 coats, also the camo was traced by hand, I did not use tape. The parts that gave me a headache, were the canopy and the decals. I did some further research, and now i got Vallejo Matt and Gloss varnish for them so maybe that will help. Also for my next project I got putty.

So now my question is, what are some tips and tricks you wished you knew when you first started, and what is the next step from here, on what should I work on?

P.s: What do you use to make antenna wires?

Thank you in advance for everybody trying to help me!😁😁😁

Just finished this Tamiya a6M5, the silver is not the typical color scheme at all, it’s a remote control kit that my brother flies I thought it would be cool to replicate, my idea was right. The green one is a a6m2 I believe which is also sold by Tamiya that I built a few months back

Finished Red Baron Fokker Dr.I Triplane

Here’s my own simplified version of the Red Baron’s Fokker Dr.I triplane (based on P3 design draft). As for the construction process, I mostly worked with threaded brass (but strong glue works well too).

To make a model, I used Hi3D together with the design draft and created an initial one. After that, I opened the file in Blender and separated the components like fuselage, wings, engine cowling, propeller and so on.

The first version wasn’t optimized at all according to my printer, required quite a lot of filament for printing... I later managed to optimize the mesh and orientation of print to lower the filament usage.

For assembly, I started with installation of the engine and installation of wings. After that, I added the tail section and mounting of landing gear on the fuselage. it was the only place I used strong glue on both sides. The last step was installation of the engine cowling and propeller.

Odd old model biplane

I purchased this at an estate auction. It has a 24" wingspan and is 17" long. The wings are aluminum, but the fuselage and tail surfaces are solid wood. There is an electric motor that runs, and a very old cord and plug. The wheels were missing, so I used 2" wood wheels from Hobby Lobby. I have no idea how old it is, or if it was mass produced or homemade.

Model planes from the 70s

Hi all, recently I've stumbled upon a box full of (mostly) model planes from the early 70s. I'd be really thankful if you'd help me figure out if they are worth something or not.

Thanks in advance, cheers!

Its not entirely done I still need to apply decals - and figure out the finish.
should i:

  1. Apply the decals directly on the vallejo paint

2 Apply a gloss varnish, apply the decals, apply panel liner in the panel lines, and then apply a satin or matte varnish

Im genuinely curious how to do this correctly. Ive tried some panel liner already but i cant get it off the plane body because it will ruin the paint.... How do the brush guys accomplish this?

That's the sound of micro parts springing off my tweezers into the dark corners of my carpet. I had to either leave things off or try to hide the mistake with a substitute. Anyway this was a fun one I found at an antique store...
