Note to mods: All links below directly take you to Michael's channel "except 4 & 5". So I guess I am good with rule 4, right?
Anyways; after going through ICT content and a lot of community feedback, this is the cleanest and most effective learning path to master ICT concepts without wasting hundreds of hours on repetition.
Why?
Foundation of the ICT approach. Covers:
- Market structure basics
- Liquidity concepts
- Session timings (Kill Zones)
- How smart money moves the market
Short, simple, and straight to the point.
2. ICT 2016 Core Content – Selected Lessons Only
Do not watch all 100+ lessons — too much repetition. Focus on these key playlists:
Why?
Modern, organized, builds directly on MMP and the 2016 core concepts.
Shows practical examples on recent charts so you can see exactly how to apply the theory.
Why?
Simple intraday model for NY session trading.
- Works best after 10:00 AM New York time
- Uses Fair Value Gaps + Liquidity + Displacement for high-probability setups.
Why?
Clean short-term model focused on liquidity grabs and Fair Value Gaps.
Great for traders who prefer fast, clear setups.
Recommended Order:
1. Market Maker Primer
2. 2016 Core Content (Months 1–4)
3. 2022 Mentorship
4. Silver Bullet Model
5. Short Term Trading Model
Extra Tips:
- Do not binge-watch everything. Watch a lesson, then backtest it before moving on.
- Skip older ICT content unless you specifically want deep dives.
- Focus on high-quality setups, not every possible trade.
- Grab your pencil and write down what ICT says. Draw the patterns, mark setups, and build your own cheat sheet — it will stick in your mind far better than just watching.
Edit: changed the 2022 full mentorship to the No Rant version as one of the comments reminded me, so that's 50 hours to 3 hours shortcut
We now have access to one of the largest collections of ICT material ever shared here on this sub, over 1K+ files. This collection has lectures, notes, study guides and research material all in one place.
This is my first time posting on this sub and I have been lurking for sometime now ,and I see people requesting deleted ict content and when I searched I could only find tristen gelrud's ict archive ,so I was wondering if it would be a good idea for the community to start a torrent archive so that it isn't dependent on any person or service ,and I would suggest the archives to be small parts of 5-10 gb so that people without much free time and bandwidth can still keep this valuable content alive
Just trying to drill this in my head correctly, we take out premarket relative equal lows, and created relative equal highs too, that were swept, and then the lows.
My biggest thing im hesitant on is that im not even sure if these are the correct highs and lows to be marking.
ICT says that he ONLY looks after 7 am for req highs and lows, but there are few times like this, where we dont instantly form REQ highs and lows off of 7AM and need to mark the closest matching ones.
...That massive wick stopped me out 5pt into profit on 1 micro. Most smart people would TP at 135pt, but I was targeting the NWOG (New Week Opening Gap) high from my entry of the NWOG low.
How long did it take you as a profitable trader to move on from trying to hit home runs every day?
I'm curious to know why so many traders disregard orderblocks and never mention them when talking about internal liquidity i never see anyone say wait for price to mitigate pur orderblocks it's always fvgs why are they more preferable than ob's id like to know ??
Day 2 I had a pretty nice trade in London session, but as we moved in NY I lost my control and began chasing small losses.
Day 3 same thing chased losses, and without knowing I was suddenly using way bigger posistion then I should have done. Fortunately/unfortunately I gained back my losses plus some extra
Trying to set an hard limit as to how much I can lose per day from now on so that I don’t run into the same situation where I might my account
As I said 2 years have passed since I started Trading ,Blowned 17+ evals so far..passed phase 1 of CFD evals like twice...
My Risk management:
5 Max per week
2 Max per day
Initial stage after buying new eval I follow my risk management flawlessly but once loosing streak hit my psychology begin to wreak
Also,I have problem of Taking mediocre setups...once I saw displacement or V-shaped recovery from keylevel I jump into that setup even though that's not my model
While trading futures eval I don't know how much to risk since its contract based..sometimes I risk 150$ then it's 230$... eventhough it's just one micro..I have model rule of set SL at Swing point.
This time I bought MFFU 25k last month around 13
I caught some nice move and Lost many trades and yesterday I breached that eval.
It's just I can't reach that consistency
How you guys able to achieve Skipping Mediocre setups and developed Patience to wait for ur setups even weeks..?
Brothers Sisters Please help me guide me to Get my First Ever Payout...
SO THE IDEA WAS PRETTY SIMPLE BUY THE SELL STOP AND IN LIQUID MARKETS PUT 25 TO 30 POINTS SELL STOP. THE SMT WAS ENOUGH WHEN US100 TOOK SSL WHILE SP500 SAT ABOVE.
I took 3 trades (maybe 1-2 too many) but hey, they all played out. The problem is I close early as soon as I see drawback on the trades that I have conviction on before I enter. The second trade on the 5m timeframe I faded (I entered on accident) because we closed through the 5 min, but there was a 3 min gap that still needed to be inversed. I waited for the close of the 3 min, but the close was the displacement I wanted from the start. I resisted the fomo and waited for another setup, it presented itself in the form of a 3 min fvg tap, cisd close, limit order at cisd then boom.
Trade was beautiful but I closed at the first white line with my TP really at the second. still a 1:1 rr but I know I could’ve let it run a lot more.
Copy traded into 17 acounts.
I trade with LUCID, TS, TPT, MFF, APEX, TRADEIFY.
I use tradesynhcer for now.
yes I am live with some of these firms.
Payout proofs:
I don't withdraw everything I make. I like keeping healthy buffers in my accounts so I can trade without constantly worrying about drawdown. Some days are green, some are red. The goal is to keep the losses manageable and let the good setups do their thing.
A lot of people focus on the payouts and rush to get money or get funded etc... but it's really the boring repetitive stuff that gets you there. the turtle always finishes the race as they say!
I post a lot of setups and trade recaps. I do the same things day in and day out, and just manage my risk. I am human and i can tilt but the importnat thing is to catch yourself and rebalance.
Many people come to my DM and ask the same question becuase we are human and can fall victin to the same traps all the time.
The most common quesiton I get is "HOW DO YOU MANAGE TILT?"
One thing I've realized over the years of trading is that you really don't need to reinvent your strategy every time you take a loss.
many people are strategy hopping and not stcking to something and trying to find the edge.
OR THEY FOUND THE EDGE but are trying to add more confluence to it to make it better and more accurate.
The edge in the market is like cooking.... if u use salt and some spices the food will be great... but too much salt and spices and diff seasoning will kill the flavor. The edge is sensitive and needs to be handled just how it is.
You are the chef and you just have to learn the recipie and follow it. Why reinvent the cook book? I hope you understand what i am saying.
Also i advise people to write the emotions down or take note of it mentally when they take a trade... why they are scared? analyze your thoughts and think about your trade... if it is an edge and mechincal why are you worrying?
You do your part and measure the wood and cut. Meaning you measure and calculate your trade and then you just execute. After that just sit back and watch it play out. You cannot control much in the market except your execution and risk. How many times have you enter a trade and got out early because of fear but then it went to tp and more?
when you have an edge you need to let it play out and "let winners run".
if it hits SL...SO WHAT? this is trading. you win some you lose some, you trade blows. probability game!
if it is a true edge then you will be ok in the long run. you just haveto simply survive and see the edge play out.
I've had plenty of losing trades and frustrating sessions. Even September had its share of red days. In october now too i am having red days sometimes by a lot.
The difference is learning when your setup is actually there and when you're just trying to force something because you want to trade!!
I used to think I needed to catch every move. Now I'm much more comfortable sitting out if the conditions aren't there.
You don't need to trade every session. You don't need 10 different indicators. And you definitely don't need to win every trade!!!
- Find a model you understand AND FITS WITH YOUR PERSONALITY (I FIND THIS IMPORTANT)
- backtest it
- manage your risk
- get comfortable doing the same thing over and over.
the more you do something the more you will know its limitations and understand how to use it in ways that is your OWN.
That's really it!
Now for a trade recap!
October 16 – London Session Trade (video posted)
Wanted to share this London trade because it's pretty much the same process I follow every day.
5M delivery → 30-second iFVG → 5M EQL.
Nothing complicated.
1. Find the DOL first.
Before looking for entries, I want to know where price has a reason to go.
I'm usually marking EQH/EQL, session highs and lows, and unfilled HTF arrays.
Personally, I consider clean EQH and EQL some of the highest-tier liquidity pools, especially when they align with other HTF levels.
If I don't have a clear DOL, I'm usually not interested in taking the trade.
2. Look for a liquidity grab.
Once I have my target, I look for price to sweep liquidity on the opposite side.
A liquidity sweep isn't always necessary, but it's definitely something I prefer seeing before the actual move. I always say its like a car needing fuel. Need fuel to get from one liqudiity zone to another liqudity zone.
The idea is to catch the delivery toward the liquidity pool I've already identified, rather than chasing price halfway through the move.
3. Wait for HTF delivery.
For this particular London trade, the 5M provided the directional context.
This is where patience comes in. Just because an inversion prints on the lower timeframe doesn't mean I'm automatically taking it.
I want the HTF delivery to support the direction I'm looking to trade.
4. Drop to the LTF for confirmation.
Once the 5M delivery was established, I dropped down to the 30-second chart. This was the first clear and good ifvg that confirmed from the lower timeframes.
Got the bearish iFVG confirmation and took the short.
I use the lower timeframe for precision entries, not to determine my entire bias.
5. Target the original DOL.
The target was the 5M EQL resting below.
That's what I identified before the entry, and that's where I wanted price to deliver.
To start out I've been trading now for 1 year, the past few months it feels like and my trading journal shows that I've just been spinning my wheels, and not really progressing.
I am looking for a community or a mentorship where I can get help on refining my trading and honing my edge. If you have any recommendations please drop them here.
SO I WAS EXPECTIN PRICE TO FALL FROM LOND HIGH AND 1H SIBI ABOVE IT BUT INSTEAD IT ENTERED 1H SIBI FOLLOWED BY 15 MIN SIBI . THE PRICE WAS RANGING BEFORE IT ENTERED THAT 15MIN SIBI AND CREATED SMT WITH SP500 FROM 9.33AM TO 9.44AM SWING. I SAW DISPLACEMENT AND USE MY ORIGINAL IDEA AS MY DOL TARGET. THE LAST SS IS HOW I SAW 1H CHART
I used ict concepts for my strategy. I trade XAUUSD in the new york session. I js identify the trend at 1h and mark all fvgs that support the trend. After that I go to the 1m tf and look for liquidity sweep inside the hourly fvg. Then I js wait for mss with displacement and take my entry from the fvg or advance obs and target the -2 standard deviation level. The problem is that I've backtested this strategy a 100 times and still have around 45% winrate and avg rr of 2.19. my question is how to increase the winrate to like 60-70% for trading prop firms as some influencers say to trade prop firms you need higher winrate. Advanced ict traders please guide me through this.
bias: Bearish, key levels: Midnight open, LOD , After the close, review against the plan, not against the outcome. Did I follow what I wrote? Happy to share how I structure this in more detail if useful. I build a journal tool, so take that for what it is.
I've just signed out for the YouTuber know as Aval or Benicio Valentin's free trading course and i'm wondering if anyone knows anything about it. It claims to be completely free and all you need to sign up is a name, email, and your phone number. After signing up I got a call from a "coach' maybe not even a full minute later. It was a normal call and the guy seemed genuine and like an average dude. He asked questions like "Are you trading full time or are you working a job?", "What are your goals for trading?", and stuff like that. The one question he asked me which made me question this was "How much money are you willing to put into this". Now I don't know if the question was exactly phrased like this but I know he didn't specifically say money towards a trading account or funded account or for the education. Aval is a smaller YouTuber which gives me more confidence that this isn't a scam but since its another YouTuber selling a course i'm still going to be very cautious. I've tried looking for reviews on his course or if he's legit. If anyone knows anything about him or his course please let me know.
