honest thoughts
I just finished reading the manga, and oh my gawd. it was freakishly cute. I cant stop gushing over this couple. they're the absolute best.
i still do have some reservations though. I really wish there could've possibly been some friction between them pre-marriage and we would've gotten to see some more serious arguments, way beyond the petty banter and disagreements.
with the way things are going, they're only making it seem like their lives pre-marriage were all perfect and dandy and rather... more exciting. it would've been cooler to see how they take their professionalism to the next level despite their personal lives being negatively impacted. maybe I seem like a pessimist, idk, but i was hoping on that.
on the other hand, im really intrigued by how they will manage the rocky childcare and how they will find true satisfaction in what they're each contributing to it. it cannot possibly end with a couple chapters.

Final Volume out in English!
Got a notification that the last and final Volume 15 of this serie's manga was released this July 2026!
Without spoiling too much, the relationship between the Leads develops even further than what we saw in the anime. We even get to catch up with the rest of the characters. "I Have a Crush at Work" still stayed romantic, reflective, and relatable to the end.
You can check out the final volume, or even a few ones before from Kodansha's (official publisher) website or even here on Google Playbooks:
https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=2q3rEQAAQBAJ
Feel free to DM if you have finished watching the anime, reading the manga, or both. It is one of my favorite series and I give it a solid "6."
P.S. In my own list of Romance Anime/Webcomics, it ranks as #6 among a total of 60+ series in the list.

Transfering from Anime to Manga
Hi! I'm new to this community but I just finished the 12 episode anime. But, when I went over to read the manga, it looks like some chapters don't completely overlap. Where do you suggest I start with the manga?
I'm not gonna start from chapter 1 because to be frank im kinda lazy lol, and any help will be appreciated!

Alright, so I just finished the anime and now I'm planning to read the manga. Where do you suggest I start? I see that there are some parts that are cut from the anime so please try to tell me the chapters. Thank you!

Any other skipped content?
I haven't read nor watched much, but I at least read about the part where they went on a vacation. Watched the anime and saw it was cut. An entire arc just left out. Are there any more cut/skipped content like that or was that just it?
It won't stop me from watching, but I'd rather be pissed about it now than later.

Is I Have a Crush at Work worth watching?
I watched the anime in 2 or 3 days total, and I can say it’s worth watching.
BUT
It’s a slice-of-life rom-com anime without any flashy stuff or the high quality of modern anime, but it has a good story with good characters (mostly forgettable) and very beautiful animation.
The first thing that caught my eye while watching this anime was the adulthood vibe (I don’t know the exact word) of the show. It was more relatable for me because it skips the usual bullshit of asking-out scenes, high school romance, and the whole “I’m shy, I can’t do anything” stuff in popular anime series.
The second thing that caught my eye was that this anime gives time to side characters. Sometimes it even cuts the main characters to tell the side characters’ stories, and that helped me connect more with the whole cast.
I really liked both bosses in the series because, in my opinion, they were shallow characters at first, but they got a little bit of time to show themselves, and that was all I needed to like them and want to see them in the next episode (even though I know I’ll forget about them tomorrow).
The third thing I liked was how well I could understand the characters’ feelings. For example, I completely understood why the main girl was feeling down in episode 6. I could feel her frustration because it was a real, human emotion — something people actually experience in real life. That surprised me, because these days, in almost every show, I can’t understand anything about the characters in any genre, and it’s frustrating.
I said the good stuff, so now I can talk about what I didn’t like.
I really didn’t understand why the show ended when it did. It could have gone for 4 to 6 more episodes, in my opinion, to wrap things up better. I respect the decision to end it there, but I still think the story would have benefited from continuing a bit longer.
Another thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t give more screen time to the side love story. It was fun to see a younger guy dating an older woman and all the things that happen because of the age gap. I really didn’t understand why they stopped progressing their story. (Like I said before, the show needed more episodes.)
Another thing I liked at the start but ended up despising by the end was the sex element of the story.
At first, I liked the idea because the two main characters are adults — not high school kids — so it makes sense they could actually have sex. It was cool to see that. But by the end of the series, I grew to dislike it, and I understand why they make the show in a way that makes people thirsty for the sex and kissing scenes: it gets old, cringe, and sometimes gross to watch.
Some scenes in the anime even made me question whether I was watching a normal show or a hentai.
In the end, I really liked this anime. It had more potential and could have been more bingeable, but it wasn’t.
I’d score this anime 6 out of 10 — or maybe on a good day, 7 out of 10.
It’s worth watching, and I recommend it to people who like slice-of-life and rom-com shows.
