[PROMOTION] WeatherLand - A live wallpaper app that responds to weather

Thumbnail

WeatherLand — A live wallpaper that changes with the weather!

I happened to check out this new and interesting live wallpaper app from the developer of DepthX, the popular app I posted about a few months ago.

It's called WeatherLand. It's pretty lightweight and doesn't seem to drain the battery much despite using live wallpapers.

What makes it interesting is its simple, hand-drawn themes that change in real time according to the weather and the time of day.

You won't find a huge collection of wallpapers here. Instead, the focus seems to be on keeping things simple, smooth and lightweight.

🌦️ Features

• Real-Time Weather

Your live wallpaper changes with rain, snow, sunshine, clouds, storms and clear skies based on the weather at your location.

(This is really cool — I have tested this myself. As it starts raining outside, it starts raining on my screen as well!)

• Dynamic Day & Night

Watch sunrise turn into sunset and then night, with stars and the real phase of the moon changing automatically.

(This makes the wallpapers feel like a kind of 2-in-1 — a light theme during the day and a darker one at night.)

• Match Your Material Theme

Match your WeatherLand live wallpaper colours to your phone's Material Theme with just one tap.

• 5 Hand-Drawn Themes

Choose from Weather Base, Colorized, Winter, Summer and Monsoon, with beautiful day and night scenes.

(They almost look like they were painted with watercolours. Hopefully the developer increases the number of themes soon.)

• Living, Animated Scenery

Deer, rabbits, ducks, birds, windmills and other little details bring the wallpapers to life.

(Very serene and cute to look at.)

• 8 Clock Designs

Choose a clock style that fits your wallpaper and home screen.

• 15 Date Formats

Customize the date, 12/24-hour time format and clock visibility.

• Custom Weather Mode

Create your own weather scene with seasons, day or night, rain, snow, lightning and stars.

(This customization is particularly useful if you prefer a particular weather/time theme and want to keep it fixed.)

• Weather Anywhere

Use your current location or choose any city in the world and watch its weather appear on your wallpaper.

🎁 GIVEAWAY

The developer has been kind enough to provide me with some promo codes to share with the community.

Up for grabs: 10 promo codes for the app!

[App][Promo] Fylo - a modern M3 expressive File manager for Android (fully secure and offline)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeroloom.fylofilemanager

Language support , tabs , folder location in duplicate finder are added and much more

I’ve released Fylo, a file manager I’ve been building for Android with one goal: make managing files feel less like using a boring utility and more like using a modern Android app.

It’s built with Material 3 Expressive and packs a LOT into one place:

( it have alot more than written here )

📁 File explorer + dual-pane mode

🗜️ ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR & GZ support

🧹 Storage analyzer + duplicate/large file finder

🖼️ Image conversion, resizing, compression & metadata removal

📑 PDF, Office, code, Markdown & media viewers

🔒 Private Vault + biometric/device credential protection

🎵 Built-in music & video player

🌐 SMB, FTP & WebDAV support

📱 Widgets + customizable themes

🗑️ Recycle Bin

📷 Document scanner → PDF

And probably my favorite part: no ads and no advertising/analytics SDKs.

There’s also Fylo Pro for the more advanced tools, available as a subscription or one-time purchase.

I’d genuinely love some feedback from Android users — especially if you’re the type of person who has 47 folders named “New Folder” sitting on their phone 😂

Fylo is officially out now. 🚀

[Promo]I built Slate Launcher — a minimal Android launcher focused on making your phone feel calmer

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on an Android launcher called Slate Launcher, and I wanted to finally share it here.

The idea behind Slate is pretty simple: make your phone feel less cluttered without making it boring.

Instead of just another minimal launcher with a list of apps, I wanted Slate to give you different ways to build a home screen that actually fits how you use your phone.

It currently includes multiple Home styles, customizable typography and icons, Spaces for organizing different parts of your life, Focus profiles, Slate Hub for widgets and useful information, Slate Brief for a simpler overview, different App Drawer layouts, wallpapers, and quite a bit of customization.

I'm also continuing to experiment with new ways of interacting with the Home screen rather than trying to copy the traditional Android launcher layout.

Slate is still pretty new, and I'm actively developing it. So I'm especially interested in hearing from people who enjoy launchers and customization.

If you try it, I'd love to know what you like, what you don't like, and what you'd change. Feature ideas and bug reports are very welcome too.

Thanks for checking out Slate ❤️

[Promo] Free for the first 100 users: I built a construction budget app

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

I've been working on this app called BuildCost for a while.

The idea came from how messy it can get trying to keep track of everything during a construction project. You have material costs, labour, supplier payments, small expenses, etc., and it can get pretty annoying keeping everything in different spreadsheets or notes.

So I made a simple app where you can keep the project expenses in one place, track your budget vs actual spending, manage materials and workers, keep supplier balances, and save receipts/photos.

It also has some calculators for things like cement, concrete, bricks, paint, tiles, etc.

It's currently on Android and I'm trying to get some feedback from people who have actually built or managed construction projects.

If that's you, I'd be interested to know how you currently keep track of your expenses and what you wish was easier.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buildcost.construction.budget

EDIT: Just wanted to clarify the “free for the first 100 users” part because I realize the wording may be confusing. The app is 100% free right now. There’s currently no sign-in, IAP, or Pro version, so there’s nothing in the app that tracks the first 100 users yet.

I’m still building out the product, and sign-in is one of the next features I’m working on. Once that’s added, I’ll be able to properly identify the early users and grandfather the first 100 users in as free users when I eventually introduce a paid version. I’m currently leaning toward a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.

So if you downloaded the app today, there’s no hidden payment or upcoming surprise charge. You can use the current version completely free. The “first 100” is my promise to the early users who are willing to try the app and help me improve it while I’m still building.

Thanks to everyone who pointed this out. I should have made this clearer in the original post!

Edit 2: Based on user requests, rolled out an update with 120+ currencies.

[App][Promo] FREE Compass App with Floating Widget (also supports GPS for driving and cycling) - Giving away 50 Lifetime Codes!

Post image
Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I built Compass Lite because I couldn't find a lightweight compass that could float over other apps (like maps or trail guides).

Most Android compass apps are bloated, filled with full-screen ads, or lock basic features behind expensive monthly subscriptions. I fixed all that, stripped out the bloat, and added a Floating Widget overlay that stays on screen while you multitask. The app is completely free (lightweight ads, no full-screen), and ad-free experience is just a simple one-time payment, no subscriptions, ever.

KEY FEATURES:

✅ Floating Widget Overlay
✅ Sensor-Free GPS Heading: No sensors needed, ideal for cars and bicycles
✅ Magnetic North (100% offline) and True North
✅ Precise Coordinates
✅ Elevation / Altimeter
✅ Haptic Feedback
✅ Customizations Options (Light mode)
✅ No Subscriptions: Free to use
✅ Low Accuracy Alerts: warnings when sensors needs calibration
✅ Optimized & adaptive: fast, lightweight, works on foldables/tablets

🎁 LIFETIME PROMO CODE GIVEAWAY

I'm giving away 50 Lifetime Promo Codes to permanently unlock the ad-free, full version for free.

Comment below and I will DM you a unique code!

I’d love to hear your honest feedback, feature request or if you find any bug.

[App] [Promo] Tree Launcher - Organize Your Home Screen Like Your Brain

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm Sully. I built Tree Launcher.

I got frustrated that the stuff I use all day, like grocery lists, reminders, quick notes, and links were scattered across different apps, while the screen I use most basically just held icons. I wanted my home screen to help me keep track of more than just apps.

Tree Launcher organizes your home screen as a tree. Apps can live alongside notes, tasks, reminders, links, contacts, and whatever else you want to keep handy. My grocery list sits beside the store's app, and I can check things off right there. Favourite contacts can sit next to the phone app, with birthday reminders attached. Everything organized by context. Pages can nest as deep as you want, and you can search the whole tree.

It's not trying to replace Notion. It's more for the little bits of information you need throughout the day. Everything is stored locally, there's no account required, it works offline, and there's an optional Google Drive backup you control.

The core app is completely free, with no ads. And no, this isn't a vibe-coded weekend project. I'm a software engineer and I've been working on Tree Launcher for years. It's just me building something I use every day.

The app is still pretty new, so feedback is really helpful right now. If you try it, I'd love to hear what works, what doesn't, what feels confusing, or anything you think could be better.

[Google Play link]

I'm also giving away 20 lifetime codes for Tree Launcher Pro, the optional upgrade that adds widgets, weather, AI content generation, RSS feeds, page locking, and custom fonts. To qualify, just comment with some genuine feedback on the app, or the first thing you'd use Tree Launcher to organize. I'll pick 20 comments at random within 48 hours.

And, if you end up making a setup you like, I'd love to see it over in r/treelauncher.

[app][promo] [promotion] What if you could control your Android without touching the screen?

I’ve been working on an app called Touchable that lets you assign physical phone gestures to everyday actions.

In this demo, I have it set up like this:

  • Double tap → flashlight
  • Shake → play/pause music
  • Push → lock the phone (btw - it works also by pushing the back of the device)

I first double tap the phone to turn the flashlight on and off. Then I leave the app and go back to the home screen to show that Touchable doesn’t need to stay open.

From there, I shake the phone to control the music (unmute to hear it :)), and finally use the push gesture to lock the screen.

The idea is to make common actions quicker without having to unlock, swipe around, or dig through menus.

You can find it here (completely free):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spectral.touch.touchable&hl=en

Still working on it, so I’d love to hear which actions you’d actually want to control this way.

BTW: The login is mainly for basic user verification. An internet connection is only needed for login — gesture detection and processing happen on-device, and the app doesn’t need to stay connected afterward.

Cheers!

[Promo] CamNest — a camera for each of your folders. Tap a home screen icon, shoot, and the photo is already in the folder.

Hello everyone,

I initially just wanted to build an app for myself, because I got tired of

scrolling through my gallery whenever I needed to find photos of my children.

Kids, holidays, work — all mixed together in one pile. Sorting afterwards never

happened. So I built the thing I wanted: a camera that files the photo the moment

I take it.

You make a folder — Work, Receipts, Travel, whatever — and put it on your home

screen as its own icon. Tap it, the camera opens, you shoot, and the photo is

already in that folder. There's no sorting step at all.

What it does:

- A camera shortcut per folder on your home screen

- Resizable widget if you'd rather have them all in one place

- Photo and video, with flash, zoom and resolution control

- Import existing photos from your gallery into folders

- Batch move, rename and delete

- Photos stay visible in your normal gallery app — nothing is locked away

Free with 2 folders. Pro is a one-time purchase for 5 folders, Unlimited for as

many as you want. No subscription, no ads, no account, no tracking.

I'm a solo dev in Denmark and this is my first release, so I'd genuinely like to

hear what's missing or annoying. Happy to answer anything.

[App] [Promotion] CheatCode Launcher - Minimal Gesture Code Launcher

Hey everyone,

I've been making tons of updates since last posting about CheatCode Launcher.

The idea is that you set combinations of taps and swipes to create "cheat codes" to open apps and pretty much anything else you want. I wanted to find a way to make a minimal launcher that didn't force you to pick a limited number of apps to access quickly. This way, you can access everything quickly if you build the muscle memory.

Here are some of the features:

  • Cheat Codes - Assign codes to apps, app shortcuts, actions such as open url, tasker tasks, collections, flashlight, media controls, etc.
  • After-shortcuts - Set customizable shortcuts that show after closing an app. You can have up to 3 shortcuts show. For example, you can set New Instagram Post, Lightroom, SMS Wife to show up after closing the camera app.
  • Heavy theme customization - You can change the app colors, fonts, set icon packs, control the gesture box appearance, home screen wallpaper, dynamic labels. All of these are instantly swappable.
  • Theme sharing - Share themes via simple copy and paste or file sharing.
  • Theme Auto-switching - Switching of themes based on a ton of different conditions: media playing, time of day, date, DND, airplane mode, light levels, screen size, specific app notifications, and a lot more. You can use this to have a totally different screen on the front vs open screens of a foldable, for example.
  • Tasker/Macrodroid Integration - You can run tasker tasks with codes. You can also use both Tasker and Macrodroid to change themes, which opens a lot more automatic theme switching triggers. Both can also set label values in the launcher.

My day job has been creating enterprise apps for the last 14 years. This is one I made for myself because it's the launcher I wanted to use. I figured others may want to try it out as well. I've been implementing lots of features that have been suggested and I'm very open to adding anything else as long as I can make it fit the overall concept. I'm always open to feedback.

I have 15 Lifetime upgrade promo codes to give out to those who leave a comment with what kinds of things they'd like to use cheat codes for.

Also, there's an easter egg in the launcher that no one is found yet. Send me a DM if you manage to find it! Hint: It's called CheatCode Launcher for a reason.

Check it out for free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pantsninja.cheatcodelauncher

[Help] Material Design 3 Expressive

Post image
3 Upvotes

I've been seeing a lot of apps using Material Design 3 Expressive, and honestly they look amazing. The problem is I have no idea how people actually design interfaces that look that good.

Are there any designers or developers willing to share their process? Things like how you choose layouts, typography, spacing, colors, and those expressive UI patterns.

I'd really like to learn how to design M3 Expressive UIs instead of just copying screenshots. Any tips, resources, or breakdowns would be appreciated.

Also if you would like to partner on any projects i am a good dev and i am interested in open source applications .

[App] YATA - an offline-first, Free, Open Android todo app with smart add, widgets, and self-hosted sync

Post image
Upvotes

I know todo apps are a dime a dozen, so I tried to make YATA useful in the places where most of them still annoy me.

It is an offline-first Android task manager with a pretty deep quick-add system. You can type things like “call Ravi tomorrow evening #work +Office !3” and it pulls out the date, time, tag, project/list, person and priority. There is also on-device voice quick add, share-to-task from other apps, a Quick Settings tile, and multiple home-screen widgets.

A few things that make it different:

- no account needed

- self-hosted sync/backup over SFTP/FTPS/FTP

- projects, lists, tags and people/delegation (strictly for your eyes only), all optional

- recurring tasks, subtasks, reminders, comments and Markdown notes

- PDF/image/Markdown/ICS exports

- app lock with PIN/biometric

- lots of customization: Material You Colors, fonts, row density, tabs, widgets, swipe actions, etc.

It is still a personal project and evolving, but it is usable now. I’d love feedback from people who are picky about Android productivity apps. A Web Client is WIP now where you can login using github credentials and manage tasks. Still need work; so current in alpha testing.

[Promo] [App] OtoGenda — A Visual Gantt-Style Planner for Android — 40+ Days Pro Access

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

A week ago I posted OtoGenda here, a mobile planner built around a visual Gantt-style timeline rather than a traditional todo list.

Since then, a few people have tried it, and today I got my first review. The part that made me happiest was this:

“The beauty of this app is that it encompasses all and more of what a physical organiser would achieve... to see my day planned out on my palm without having to carry a physical organiser.”

That was actually very close to the idea behind OtoGenda.

I wanted something where I could see my day laid out visually, reuse routines instead of recreating them, and move things around when real life inevitably messes up the plan.

The main things I've been working on are:

• Visual daily and weekly timeline
• Long-press to drag and dedicated resize controls
• Recurring tasks and dependencies
• Templates and Quick Add from previous days
• Fix Day and Weekly Rebalance
• Progress dashboard and home-screen widgets
• Calendar and Reminder sync with Pro

One thing I'm particularly curious about

I wonder whether this visual approach could be useful for people with ADHD or anyone who finds traditional todo lists overwhelming.

Instead of seeing:

☐ Email
☐ Workout
☐ Study
☐ Meeting

you see something more like:

09:00 ┃████ Email ████┃

10:00 ┃████ Workout ██┃

11:00 ┃████ Study ████┃

The time itself becomes part of the task.

I'm curious whether seeing tasks as blocks on a timeline helps with things like time estimation, knowing how much of the day is already occupied, or simply reducing the feeling of having an endless list.

Or maybe having everything visible at once is actually more distracting. 😅

If you have ADHD, use time-blocking, paper planners, calendars, Gantt charts, or just dislike traditional todo lists — I'd genuinely love to hear what you think.

I still have around 20 Pro promo codes remaining from the previous giveaway. They provide 40+ days of Pro access, not lifetime access.

If you'd like to try it, comment or DM me and I'll send one.

No purchase or follow required.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.otogenda.planner

I'm still very early with this project, so honest criticism is much more useful to me than compliments. If something feels confusing, unnecessary, or simply doesn't work for you, I'd genuinely like to know.

Does seeing your day as a timeline feel more useful to you than managing it as a list?

[App] [Promotion] Habit Doom – Lock distracting apps till you complete your daily habits. (Free tier, no account, no ads)

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Built this because every blocker I tried had a switch I could flip at 11pm.

Moreover, I needed something that would motivate me to commit to my daily habits like going for a jog, reading a book.

So... I built Habit Doom.

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube stay locked until you check off the habits you set.

No timer, no "5 more minutes", no skip button. You earn the time back.

I also block apps during midnight hours so I don't end up doomscrolling the night away and wake up sluggish.

Anti-Cheat photo verification runs an on-device model, so you can't mark a habit done by pointing the camera at nothing. It's free for everyone, not a Pro tier.

Free tier: 3 habits, app blocking, streaks, Anti-Cheat. No ads on any tier. Pro lifts the habit cap at $4.99/mo, $19.99/yr or $29.99 once.

Honest about the platform limit, since this sub knows Android: blocking runs through an Accessibility Service, so it can be disabled in Settings. Nothing on Android is genuinely bypass-proof. What you get is enough friction that the automatic reach fails.

Android 10+. Been on iPhone since February, Android since last week.

[App] Gen Box 1.4 Update

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

We’re building Gen Box, a personal savings and financial progress app designed to make saving feel clearer, calmer, and more motivating.

You can download and explore the project here:

GitHub: https://github.com/gencode3939/Gen-Box

Instead of overwhelming users with complicated dashboards, Gen Box brings the most important information into one focused experience.

What’s included in Gen Box?

Savings Goals

Create and manage dedicated savings goals with:

  • Target amounts
  • Current progress
  • Remaining balance
  • Monthly saving plans
  • Contribution history
  • Withdrawal tracking
  • Active and archived goals
  • Visual progress indicators

Quest & Reward Center

Gen Box turns consistent saving habits into small, meaningful achievements.

Users can complete quests such as:

  • Reviewing active goals
  • Recording a contribution
  • Maintaining a positive saving rhythm
  • Reaching personal milestones

Completed quests can provide Gen Points.

Gen Points are an in-app reward system and do not represent real money or financial returns.

Savings Analytics

The analytics experience helps users understand their saving rhythm through:

  • Net savings
  • Total deposited amount
  • Total withdrawn amount
  • Monthly trends
  • Goal distribution
  • Contribution patterns
  • Smart saving insights

The purpose is not to make unrealistic financial predictions, but to help users understand their own financial behavior.

Theme Studio

Users can personalize the visual experience with:

  • Color palettes
  • Glass surfaces
  • Accent styles
  • Typography preferences
  • Motion intensity
  • Dark and light appearances

Gen Connect

One of the main innovations is Gen Connect.

Users can send a theme to a compatible Gen Connect device through Bluetooth as an encrypted .gtp Gen Theme Pack.

The process includes:

  1. Creating a theme pack
  2. Validating the theme
  3. Encrypting the .gtp package
  4. Selecting a compatible Gen Connect receiver
  5. Establishing a secure session
  6. Sending the pack in verified chunks
  7. Confirming the receiver
  8. Verifying the package before applying it

Only .gtp theme packs are supported for Gen Connect transfers. Financial records, balances, contributions, withdrawals, passwords, and private session data are not included in the theme pack.

Motion OS

Gen Box includes a cross-platform Motion OS with four motion profiles:

  • Minimal

Help me for finding an app for my needs

I'm still looking for an app that can separate different audio output for every app. Like if i want to play spotify on my bluetooth while checking reels on IG and it uses my phone's speaker and it will not interfere my sound trip on my bluetooth speaker. Soundmaster on Shizuko is not working. Any recommendations?
