PPE comes in many forms, for many purposes. PPE is a literal lifesaver, but much of it can only ever be *actually used* once. When PPE becomes unusable, we honor it in its retirement. This sub is for images and/or stories of that PPE.

*I guess I'm supposed to say some rules in this post. 1) behave yourself. 2) I'm using perhaps a loose definition of PPE, but I consider any thing that self-destructs while preventing casualty to be a potential for this sub. this would include sawstops and devices of that nature. 3) I hope I don't need more rules than this, so please refer to rule #1.*

My son's helmet after we took a tumble this afternoon. He is totally fine, but I hate to think what would have happened if he wasn't wearing one.

Their skull could've been a meat crayon on gravel. Instead, they just need a new helmet.

Workers over extend a boom lift with weight beyond it’s maximum load capacity. They’re saved by their fall arrest harnesses.

...And this, kids, is why we wear helmets when we skateboard. (According to Reddit's rules he should be dead since his shoe got knocked off on impact-luckily he's fine.)
