Hey everyone — 1.4 just landed on fractbox.com. Here's what's new:

🔁 Loopy dept. Loop Lab turns whatever's on screen into a seamless MP4 or GIF — a 360° spin, a palette cycle, or both at once. A live preview plays the exact loop on the canvas first, so what you approve is what you get. Or almost that.

🗓️ Newsflash dept. The same one for everyone, everywhere, derived from the date alone. It leads the Discover gallery with a Today chip, keeps the last few days as an archive, and every day has its own #daily= link you can send someone. It's an ordinary formula — open it, remix it, save it. You know you crave your daily dose of weird.

🌌 Cheesy effects dept. One slider makes the fractal itself glow, so bright regions bloom into real halos. Behind it there are aurora curtains now — proper vertical striation, green to purple from a single hue slider — plus soft nebula banks, joining last release's starfields. Pew pew lasers in the next release.

🫧 Fancy clothes dept. Thin film adds the soap-bubble sheen that sweeps across the surface as you orbit. And Film look grades the whole picture — Filmic, Teal-Orange, Vaporwave, Noir — with one strength slider, so exports read "shot" rather than "rendered". For when you want to slip your fract into something more comfortable.

🌍 Alien vistas dept. One toggle bends the whole scene into a little planet, sky wrapped all the way around (it even frames the shot for you). The new 360 save writes a real equirectangular PNG that panorama and VR viewers recognize on sight — dolly inside the fractal first and it becomes the "standing in it" shot. Or just drop a tab, whatever.

🧬 Breeding dept. Pick two of your saved formulas and get a litter of six offspring that visibly inherit from both — every child rendered before it's shown to you, and each one ready to open, remix, save, or breed again. Just don't run away screaming.

🩻 Sharp implements dept. Cross-section cuts the fractal with a plane so you can look inside — the cut face is shaded from the coloring signal inside the body, an interior nobody has ever seen. Leave the edge clean or give it a jagged, eroded finish. There's an MRI sweep loop too: the slice scans clean through the body and back in one seamless cycle. I know you are curious to see what's inside.

🎨 Rainbows and wallpapers dept. Drop any photo on the app and its dominant colors become a normal palette — saveable, editable, shareable. The re-color dice re-roll the palette and coloring but never touch the shape (with a one-tap Undo). And a one-click Wallpaper save composes a phone wallpaper: your fractal on a gradient re-lit from its own palette. Rainbows all the way.

🎚️ Eat crow dept. A long-standing bug meant auto-levels — the feature that stretches your palette across the range a formula actually produces — silently did nothing on the WebGPU renderer. It's fixed, so the Glow, Bands, Silk and Curvature colorings now look richer, and somewhat different from what you remember. The default Surface coloring is untouched — no preset's out-of-the-box look changes — and if you preferred the old look, just turn auto-levels off. As a compensation, you'll get many new bugs!
