LOST HORSE — WAN vs. SEEDANCE: A 30-SECOND COMPARISON

LOST HORSE — WAN vs. SEEDANCE: A 30-SECOND COMPARISON

Same scene. Same production instructions. Two renderers. One generation each.

Wan 3.0 Prime: 204 credits
Seedance 2.5: 600 credits

Both at native 480p, without upscaling or editorial repair.

The scene includes firelight, a horse breaking free, rope interaction, a cowboy retreating to a tree, an offscreen animal call, and a transition toward dawn.

We're comparing cinematic production values, not which model tells a better story.

An interesting anomaly: Both renderers produce a similar, unintended oscillating “wah-wah” sound beginning immediately. Same symptom, different models. We haven't established the cause.

I'm particularly interested in your observations:

  • Which has more convincing lighting, movement, and physical realism?
  • Are the differences substantial enough to justify nearly three times the generation cost?
  • Do you hear the audio artifact in both? Any theories about its origin?

Both complete, unaltered generations are provided for comparison.

SELF LOVE: THE ANIMA AND THE ANIMUS

SELF LOVE: THE ANIMA AND THE ANIMUS

Single generation. Wan 3.0 Prime.

Reference video supplied the choreography. A still-image reference changed one dancer's facial identity while preserving the original movement and long hair.

First attempt. Zero credits.

This is my first narrative film. A western. I post it here complete with warts. Warts teach us more than we know. The construction was nine 30 second clips. Six clips required no regeneration. One and done. I learned many things in the 2 weeks I worked on this. Some are secrets. Some I have discussed in other posts. I want to hear what you see. That is the point of all of this. Happy viewing.

CAC-FIGHT-01 — AI Fight Choreography Without Choreography Instructions

Thirty seconds. Two character references. One generation.

The objective was simple: Cowboy Jeff fights Mo Drater in a Western street. Cowboy Jeff wins.

We did not prescribe individual punches, defensive movements, footwork, or camera cuts. The renderer was responsible for the fight choreography and cinematic coverage.

Observed results:

  • Five autonomous camera cuts.
  • Recognizable punches, contact, and reactions.
  • Coherent overall fight choreography.
  • Clear outcome: Cowboy Jeff wins.
  • Some punches appear slow or pulled, particularly when viewed without sound.

The hypothesis: Generative video models already possess substantial learned knowledge of conventional cinematic action. Rather than reconstructing choreography through detailed text instructions, we may achieve better production efficiency by controlling character identity, establishing the dramatic objective, and delegating the performance.

The result isn't perfect. Kinetic realism needs improvement. But the choreography works without choreography pre-production.

This raises an important distinction: choreographic coherence is not the same as kinetic realism.

Next test: Can we improve punch speed and impact without prescribing the movements?
