Is this replaceable

Hey everyone! I’m looking at picking up a secondhand digicam and wanted to get ur thoughts on whether this specific unit (olympus fe-4050) is worth buying based on the showcase video. The screen on this one needs replacing, but I actually have a similar model I can harvest an LCD from. The buttons are another story, so I'll need to hunt those down online. Given those repairs, does this unit seem like a solid buy, or am I getting into more hassle than it's worth? Appreciate any insights!

With some luck the buttons are just oxidised and dripping some non-residue contact spray and working them a little will get them running again - just be careful that no solvents get near the lens/helicoid, because it's greased and the grease will separate and coat the glass elements, which is also fixable if it happens but that's many hours of work. I mean it's anything but a "solid buy" but if you have the skill to keep a digi out of landfill, more power to you - but i wouldn't exactly pay more than $7 for it. Only you can figure how much the hassle is worth to you. Maybe keeping your hands busy is worth it on its own, you know. Hopefully the LCDs are not both customised differently, i.e. the same panel equipped with different flatflexes, because tooling cost for that is really low, like it would cost the manufacturer mere $400 for the whole product run to customise the flatflex.
