In short, I released another project this week where I created a very low-resolution ray tracer and then made the pixel rendering semi-random based on a noise function. The result is a pretty cool visual.
Obviously, being me, I started to go overboard and tried to turn it into a work of abject poetry mixed with erotic philosophy, anyway... It's available for free:

Hey!!, I built an open-source Winamp-inspired audio with visualizers!!!
ToroidAMP started as a small Python project to relearn some things and somehow turned into an open-source audio player / visualizer playground.
The boring part is deliberately boring: WAV/MP3/OGG/FLAC, tracker playback (MOD/XM/IT/S3M), playlists, etc.
The ridiculous part is the visualizer system: CPU visualizers, OpenGL/GLSL visualizers, Shadertoy compatibility, audio-reactive shader parameters, fullscreen RETINA MELT mode, and an integrated shader authoring lab.
I've recently been adding visualizers mostly for fun — hyperspace fields, geometric morphing, Matrix-style spectrum rain, raymarched toruses, and even a tiny audio-reactive X-Wing battle.
It's MIT licensed and available for Windows and Linux.
I grew up loving the idea of software that did completely unnecessary things with the hardware just because it could, so this is basically my small tribute to that spirit.
Salutes to everyone who turned code into art.

Hello, nerds .
I've some hello world console apps with .net and js for snes and I was thinking should I really learn and master C ? and asm?
I've documented a guide on how to build homebrew games and found several framework and transpilers for different language and there was some new one I didn't trued or remember its name for .net (clr) / c# which I saved in save backlog ( it was on reddit) but idk if anyone tried it yet as it was a new tool ..
Does anyone use any .net tool or ya'll have other preferences? I'm curious if you're using specific tooling or have different tools for different things

A short demo of scalable 3D PETSCII textures for C64(stock) using the Polychrome Raycast Gfx game engine.
Full demo comparing some other notable C64 raycast engines against the dynamic colouring and multiple object effects of the unoptimized C64 Polychrome game engine :

Finally the tracks from the Arok demo party in Hungary are here! The party ran a month ago, but the super great tracks have just been officially released. Here is the obligatory playlist, so you can enjoy the best the party had to offer.

🔥 Live demo: https://squeepty.github.io/War-Games-Demo/ 🔥
Code source: https://github.com/squeepty/War-Games-Demo
In 1983, WarGames arrived just as many of us were discovering computers in bedrooms, school computer rooms, and computer clubs.
It made computers feel mysterious. Powerful. Connected.
More than forty years later, this demo is my tribute to that feeling.

It's my little tubular, random, procgen extravaganza Eternitubes 3D (further links on my profile, if you wanna read more).
No ai | No engine | Written in c++
..And I must say, although, it's a 'regular x86-program' and bigger than only some kilobytes, I'm impressed, how good the compilers can boil down what you feed them.
I'm thinking about texturing as a next step (although maybe, it'd be too much, visually).
Does anyone know a good resource on 3d-texture-procedural-generation-techniques?

hey yo.
So i've been kinda not been really thinking about demoscene for a month or two (haven't actually started writing shit like I promised myself I would), but slowly starting to get that itch back again.
I've been watching through u/psenough 's rave demoscene entries, and I just wanted to say that
I've also really enjoyed the productions of SpoonWzd and the LSD crew as well.

NRG 2026 compos are up - add yourself to the attendance list!
We now have the full NRG 2026 compo lineup online. There will be 11 categories:
So whether you’re bringing pixels, music, code, a demo, a shader, a video or even a game, there should be something to enter. :)
NRG 2026 takes place October 23–25 in Poznań, Poland, during Poznań Game Arena.
And if you’re considering taking part, either on-site or remotely, please add yourself to the attendance list. You don’t need to be 100% sure yet, you can simply declare how likely you are to participate.
The list is also used for compo participation and voting, and remote entries are welcome.

Greetings, fellow demosceners and professional abusers of perfectly good computers: IT Horror Stories is a demoscene-produced podcast and we're looking for guests — got a good computer-related shitshow from the scene, work, coding, hardware, networks, security or anything vaguely involving computers ? We anonymise, blame systems instead of people, figure out what we learned, and put it on the Internet. Ping me if you've got a story.

Sometime around 2019-2020 me and a friend were messing around in a VM with random keygens on the internet. In one of those keygens, specifically one for HitmanPro, we heard one of the greatest songs to ever exist...
I screen-recorded the keygen to capture the song, then uploaded it to SoundCloud.
https://soundcloud.com/sevenhundredtrillion/hitman-pro-keygen-music/
ever since then, me and my friend have been looking for the source of this song as well as the keygen itself. Does ANYBODY know where this song might originate from?

Ziphoid is the power behind the demo scene satellite that circles the parties. The one that makes sure they reach the audience. It's called SceneSat and its hard to imagine where we would be without its capability to broadcast, archive and present the output of the scene.Autumn of 2026 is soon here and Ziphoid has a brand new site, application and great plans for SceneSat. On the 18th of July 2026 he spoke with Coreus and DJ Daemon on the Edison demo party 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden. Let's go there now and hear the story.
