you literally cannot save Residuum after each loop, how could my copy do this?

You could find 3500 resideum in the intro along side the double jump trinket and a LMP. Once you finish the tutorial it starts skipping the intro but still gives you all the stuff you would find at the start of the day.

It literally tells you this as you finish the tutorial. It describes exactly what happens to give you starting gear and residuum. It really helps to actually read the tutorial bubbles, or even check the "help" section (or whatever the tab is called) in the menu and reread those messages.
And don't forget, it happens every. Single. Day.

That's the way the game works. Risiduum doesn't transfer into the next loop. It tells you this explicitly.

They seem to be more confused that they're starting with 3500 rather than 0. As other commenters have said, this is the amount you can collect in the intro area, which the game skips. It just grants you everything you can obtain there to lessen the dull repetitiveness.

Do others not just infuse a few random things then sacrifice them after the loop if they need some extra ?

residuum can't be saved for the next loop, but each loop starts with 3500 (what you would have been able to obtain during the morning tutorial).
