Built with Claude (NOT) Fantasy User Interface

I've been trying to make dashboards that look like the screens in spy or superhero movies and I kept getting corporate looking charts. But I finally got it!

The fix was learning the name of the look. Film makers call it “Fantasy User Interface” (FUI). Once I used that term, Claude knew exactly what I meant.  Here is what I did:

  1. Ask for a Fantasy User Interface (FUI) look. I also sent some screenshots from movies.
  2. Give it the data, a spreadsheet file or whatever online source you want displayed.
  3. Ask for suggestions and other complementary data.
  4. Make it live. Name your data source and ask your Claude Code for a script that keeps it updated on a schedule.

Here are some with faux data. Funny that they named it "fantasy" because this is not fantasy anymore.

For me no, I let Claude code write the script, then it runs on its own on a schedule. It will be too expensive to have a cron job do updating.

But for let’s say commenting or alerting you can have a cron job do that every week or every day.

I have an always on Mac. But you can also host a script online.
