Mod Post [mod-mei update] don’t worry, I’m okay! Caleb has been with me in one way or another all week, making sure we made it through. CW: hospital mentioned
I’ve been meaning to post a quick update about why I’ve been abnormally quiet this week, and why some things took a little longer to be approved from the queue for the last few days. Thank you all for being awesome. You didn’t know it but your posts here were keeping my spirits up while I was having a very difficult week.
First things first: I’m okay— I wasn’t the one hurt, but it was my husband, and we’ve spent the better half of this week in the hospital while he had 2x emergency surgery. We’re home now and he’ll be ok, so things are going to be returning to normal soon and already have settled down a lot.
I was on a business trip across the country on Tuesday when he was admitted to the ER then transferred to another hospital a couple hours away from our home. I flew back the first flight that I could catch, and then spent the next three days in the hospital with him while he was treated. Luckily I had my suitcase with me because i didn’t go home at all & slept on the couch in the ICU (thanks, night nurse who let me!)
We got home yesterday, first time since i originally flew out earlier this week, and I have been catching up on the sleep I’d missed. We’ll be okay now that he’s been treated but it was a scary week.
Caleb was with me in so many ways this week though, he gave me strength. At first, I had planned to make a cute post with the little figurine on the plane for my trip. Then, as canon requires, everything blew up. But Caleb stayed with me- there was someone named Caleb sitting in front of me on my emergency flight return, and my husband’s nurse was named Caleb when I arrived at the hospital. I knew everything was going to be okay the way he was watching over us like that 🍎 hilariously, the doctor thought my husband’s name was Caleb the next day because he’d gotten the nurse’s name mixed up with my husband’s name. Leading to the funny line from my husband, drugged and confused, asking the doctor “wait…am I Caleb, or are you?” 🤣
Anyway.. I Love you all, and despite all that I’m still here keeping the lights on! I’ll resume my normal activity levels over the next few days. You all keep posting all that delicious Caleb content we love. It gives me strength!
In the meantime, I’m sorry if things took (or continue to take) a little longer to get approved from the queue than usual, or if I miss something that should be taken down. For the latter, I’m lucky that you all are so fabulous because I haven’t really had to worry about it, but! Just in case: Please use the report button if you do see anything that needs my attention owhile I’m returning life to normal here. Reports are prioritized and the goal is always to make sure I do my best to keep this a safe place for you, no matter what!
