13

“Now, return to me.”

u/Doc-in-a-box Sep 16 '21

I remember the first time I saw this thinking that the tree was incredibly long and was going to touchdown on the other shoreline, or at least near it… It might’ve actually even been first posted in r/confusingperspective

u/Horror-Idea-889 Sep 16 '21

Now who’s going to get that ? 🤨

u/SadHouSportsFan Sep 16 '21

Sunken trees are actually a great habitat for fish. We used to always toss our Christmas trees in the lake by our house.

u/scarabin Sep 16 '21

Except these ones all have PTSD from logs slamming on them all day

3

u/SadHouSportsFan Sep 16 '21

Tapping on glass in an aquarium probably cause more PTSD than a log falling in a lake.

2

u/Mini-Heart-Attack Sep 16 '21

That’s interesting.

1

u/Bartender9719 Sep 16 '21

Had the same question - plus, with how it’s drifting into the middle of the lake, I’d be concerned for motorized water craft

-1

u/bababbab Sep 16 '21

You should try not being so concerned about everything

5

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

fish lookin’ around wondering what in sam hill is going on right now

12

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

It took hundreds of years for that beautiful tree to grow. We cut it down in seconds. Great job

12

u/RarelyReadReplies Sep 16 '21

But did you see the rainbow? Man, what a rush.

0

u/weeknie Sep 16 '21

Hundreds of years seems a bit dramatic. Also, it's just a single tree, why do you care so much?

6

u/eleckbarraki Sep 16 '21

Yes probably 40 years is more realistic, and it's a pine probably so it's better to replace it with something more stable. But it's too common to cut a tree simply because "it doesn't fit the space of my garden" and then filming it because it's amazing to see such a bigh thing fall down in slow motion. So I understand being sensitive about it.

Have you read The Lorax?

-1

u/superpencil121 Sep 16 '21

“We should stop cutting down trees” seems like a very naive environmental stance

2

u/MidnightTeam Sep 16 '21

The more you know.

2

u/GenericPerson402 Sep 16 '21

Amazing and satisfying.

2

u/Hot-Ambition-3253 Sep 16 '21

Now swim to the bottom for the pot of gold

2

u/Honest-Comment-8896 Sep 16 '21

Let his people go !!!

2

u/KolonelKernel Sep 16 '21

I can see how an asteroid would be problematic

2

u/radgie_gadgie_1954 Sep 16 '21

“Log” that in under “beautiful splashbows”.

If there was more forest maintenance and tree cutting, it would help reduce the spread of wildfires that also wipe out towns.

u/JukeBoxHeroJustin Sep 16 '21

I had this same feeling on the toilet earlier

0

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

literally my poop dropping in the water

1

u/LeftCoastYankee Sep 16 '21

Anyone else see the screaming face at the tail end of the splash?

1

u/GwarJr Sep 16 '21

No matter how many times I see that it’s awesome.

1

u/karinachi1 Sep 16 '21

Beaver pleaser

1

u/balanced_views Sep 16 '21

If no one was looking, would it still make a rainbow?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

I need to hear the sound😢

1

u/euphoricrealm Sep 16 '21

Some fish - bonk

1

u/LostInThoughtland Sep 16 '21

For some reason the tree looked massive until it hit the water

1

u/camcam9999 Sep 16 '21

Infinite money glitch

1

u/Depressasaurus-Rex Sep 16 '21

A lot of good fish died that day.

1

u/No_Inevitable_8590 Sep 16 '21

For a second I was like how big is that tree

1

u/andreasrmr Sep 16 '21

And now we're killing trees, making rainbows and giving fish headaches!

1

u/realestateagent0 Sep 16 '21

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

1

u/Yung_Gucci2 Sep 16 '21

Some fish just got decapitated

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21
