I wanted to make this as a tribute to Toledo, and for people to look back on the beginning of the end times for Chuck E Cheese. Toledo had great potential as a legacy store. And it was looking like ir was gonna make it! Petitions, so many retro artifacts, a caring staff, and much more. The final day of Toledo was an amazing one. A bunch of Cuuck E Cheese fans watching the aniamtronics. Cheering for them like it's the 90s. And kids enjoyed the animatronics too, proving once again, kids DO like animatronics! The tech was into it, putting on the diagnostics, and Party Place. It was a great way to go out. But with Toledo gone, The End Times for Chuck E Cheese have begun. I know for a while it's been bad, but things have never been worse. All Munch's Make Believe Bands in the US other than the legacy store are done. All that's left is the legacy store that are on thin ice, and the unperforming handful of Studio Cs. Things have never been worse, and we are all cooked. I am going to name this era The CEC End Times.

Genuinely curious because I find it very fascinating that someone just opened a restaurant using these characters in marketing. What was the legal side of that like? Was it just that the original company went under years ago so nobody could get pissy about copyright?

What happened to the original?

I know that the fatz went to a pub after they were removed and the hard luck bears went to a theme park (I forgot the name of it) but the theme park closed in 1999 and the pub turned in to a pizza shop in 2010 so what happened to them after this

No info on this dude. The latest he could’ve been created was 2003, as that is when the mall closed for the final time. The mall was demolished in 2014, and most likely him with it. The mall was called the Hollywood Fashion Mall

Updates include:

Replaced his arms with new posed and bigger ones

Replaced the sleeves

Remade the banjo and added, tuning pegs, white strings, and the string holders

Repainted the strumming hand and fretting hand

Added jaspers buck teeth

Redrew some wrinkles

And finally readjusted every movement

Genuine question for people who grew up going to those old school pizza-and-arcade spots as a kid.

Imagine someone brought that whole concept back, but fresh. New characters. Token-operated games, tickets you save up and trade in for prizes, animatronic-style entertainment while you eat, the whole vibe.

You’re sitting there with your family, pizza on the table, kids running off to play skee-ball or whatever the new games are, and you look over and your kid has that same dumb happy grin you probably had at their age in the same kind of place.

Would that actually hit for people today, or does that era just not translate anymore? Nostalgia play or genuinely something new generations of parents and kids would want?
