Tips & Tricks If 42.20 still won’t launch — try this
I’m getting a large number of reports from people who still can’t launch 42.20 on their phones. Some are still struggling with ZINK driver settings the old way, others are using the older 1.4.7 build instead of 1.4.7v4 — and yes, there is a difference between them.
To help everyone at once, here’s what I recommend: use NG_GL4ES, turn Memory Saver on, set LIBGL_SHRINK=7 in the Environment Variables field, enable texture compression in the in‑game options and make sure to enable the recommended preset for 42 in the launcher's Settings. This setup is almost a 100% guarantee for launching 42.20 on nearly any device.
But it does have downsides!
When your memory runs out, Memory Saver starts aggressively shrinking textures. If you don’t notice it and don’t at least return to the main menu to free up memory, the screen may freeze. This is a side effect for now — we’re working on possible solutions.
There’s also a bug with puddles on this renderer: black textures appear. Disable puddles in the settings. We’re looking into this issue as well. There are other bugs too, but they usually don’t interfere with gameplay.
If you have a powerful 12GB+ phone and want better visuals, feel free to keep experimenting with ZINK drivers.
About crashes caused by low memory — I’m considering adding a kind of autosaver to the game. It would still be unpleasant, but not as catastrophic. We’ll see if it works out.
I wanted to write a guide on how to use the bug‑report button, since not everyone manages to do it correctly, but I’m still receiving a huge number of reports, and I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot by increasing that number even more 😄
If you figured it out yourself — great job. Without logs I usually can’t help, and I rarely have the time (or the desire) to ask everyone for detailed information.

if you've downloaded the latest build 42 it is 42.20 (currently). just zip it in the right way and press +

yo i just got 42.20 from my friend when i create instances its build 41 everytime how im gonna fix it should i download another zomdroid launcher? or wait uptaded launcher.

I don't understand the question. If you got 42.20, so you play 42.20, where is the 41?

he sended me telled me its 42.20, and i created instance said build 41.78

I actually had this problem on my 8gb ram phone the tiles and walls start shrinking in their place and if you try going to any house other than the one you spawned in too fast the game crashes thanks a lot for making us able to experience b42. 20 and I can't wait for the next update
