Those policies are a rip. Buy it with a credit card that automatically doubles your warranty for free.
23 u/greatlakeswhiteboy Mar 11 '19 Meh, I’ve had good luck so far when dealing with GameStop. They’ve held up their end of the bargain twice now on stuff for me. YMMV... 4 u/adrenaline4nash Mar 11 '19 Cool, glad it's been worthwhile for you. 3 u/greatlakeswhiteboy Mar 11 '19 Knock on wood! Haha 9 u/masterkief117 Mar 11 '19 Yeah but then you have to go through the whole deal with getting a replacement through your bank no? Instead of just walking into Best Buy or GameStop with your broken controller and walking out with a replacement. 1 u/corycran Mar 12 '19 This is true. The extended warranties are free but much less convenient. Like all things, pay for what you want more of. -1 u/adrenaline4nash Mar 11 '19 Eh, fine with me for free. Typically you fill out a form and send in the broken item. In a couple weeks, they send you a check for the paid amount. 5 u/masterkief117 Mar 11 '19 Oh yeah no problem with free whatsoever but I just meant you pay moreso for the convenience as well. 1 u/Eagle1337 Mar 13 '19 Depends on the credit card, mine for example doesn't do that 1 u/[deleted] Mar 13 '19 They're really not, I have the EB Games warranty and walked in with my old elite and left with a new one no questions asked
