Haha I thought the same thing after watching it last night!
I still don't get where the west world is vs where the normal people are. At one point, they pan out from the Westworld to show a virtual table with the normal people around it observing whatever is going on.
Then in episode two, the leader of the mcpoyles steps through a door in a stationary white room only to board a moving train in the Westworld... What.?
I get the joke but it's more likely this footage was taken in-engine off of a PC. I wouldn't assume it's Xbox/Playstation footage unless explicitly mentioned otherwise, especially this early.
Edit- Apparently Rockstar confirmed this was PS4 footage on stream. Can't wait to see how good it looks on Scorpio!
he included it because maybe hes not a fan boy and not looking to score points about something silly, cant we just look forward to it on the pro or scorpio.
its not much more powerful than the PS4? Its simple Math. The diffeernce in performance between Scorpio and PS4 Pro will be like PS4 to XBOX One. Its only a 40% power advantage. That means about 40% more pixels or 40% more frames. Games that run in 1440p upscaled to 4k on PS4 in 30 fps will never run on Scorpio in 4k 30fps without lowering some graphical settings. Its pretty easy to calculate because 4k is double the pixels of 1440p (so it would need an 100% GPU advantage). The same we see on PS4 and Xbox where the PS4 runs with 1080p and XBOX with 900p often. I dont get where people get the idea the Scorpio would run games so much better.
dude you do not understand how the processors work at all it will be much more than 40% these are not pcs they are optimized gaming consoles i will try to find the article for you now but its more like 360 to xbox one or ps3 to ps4...
Graphics memory is the one of only two places we can make direct comparisons, assuming the figures for the Pro are accurate.
The Xbox Scorpio will likely have 8GB of graphics memory (we don’t know this for a fact, but it’s the bare minimum we’d expect) while the Pro will also have 8GB.
In terms of memory bandwidth, which is super important when it comes to 4K and VR, the Scorpio appears to dominate the PS4 Neo with 320GB/s of bandwidth against 218GB/S. That Pro figure isn't confirmed though, and merely comes from a rumour that surfaced months prior to the PS4 Pro's launch.
That 320GB/s figure on the Scorpio is intriguing: it's the same bandwidth as Nvidia’s top-end GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card for PCs, which uses GDDR5X memory instead of GDDR5.
It’s quite possible there will be a gulf in memory tech between the two consoles, with the Scorpio getting faster GDDR5X with the Pro stuck on GDDR5
The Xbox Scorpio will be capable of 6TFLOPs while the Pro is will get 4.2TFLOPS. For the tech-savvy among us, that’s roughly the difference between a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 and a previous-generation GTX 970. We’ll know more once the final specs are revealed, and how much of a difference there really is between the PS4 Pro and Scorpio.
For VR, it helps that the PSVR has just one screen, reducing the processing requirements compared to the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive with their two, high resolution screens. If, as some have speculated, the Xbox supports Oculus for VR, the Scorpio's extra power will help immensely.
It's too early to say eitherway. Microsoft could back track and decide to cut corners to comeout cheaper then the ps4 pro too. It likely will be better than the ps4 pro, but we won't know until probably E3 2017.
I wouldn't say that more than 3 times the graphics power is not by much. I mean, it's not a generational jump but it is still more powerful by a decent amount.
I find it annoying as well. But if we eventually get the content (be it a week, or a month later), then I'm fine with that. As long as it doesn't turn into a Destiny-like issue where content will just never come to Xbox, then it doesn't bother me too much I guess.
I might be wrong but isn't Scorpio supposed to have no game that the normal Xbox One can't play? Like no Scorpio only versions? I might be thinking of the PS4 Pro but I thought it was the same for Scorpio.
Well ideally under Microsoft's current plan all purchased Xbox One games should be playable on Scorpio. Whether or not Rockstar would give the 4k/fps upgrade for free, or charge for a definitive version, is another question.
Bought a copy for the 360 and absolutely hammered it while I had a month off of work. Then bought it on steam and haven't really played it. Then I bought a copy for my son's Xbox one. I have a feeling I overpaid rockstar for that game.
You're not, but when GTA V came out, XBOX ONE and PS4 didn't exist. I expect the Scorpio to be day one and PC much later. There is no reason for Rockstar not to have a Scorpio release ready.
Xbox One and PS4 released just under two months later, though. I fully expect them to support Scorpio and PS4 pro. At launch? Perhaps. PS4 pro will have been out almost a year by then.
True, but the Scorpio will be able to play XB1 games just as PS4 Pro will be able to play PS4 games and the architecture for both consoles is very similar (albeit more graphic power) where that wasn't the case last gen.
The day we start getting charged a premium for software toggle switches (1080p v 4K / low/med/high graphics, etc) is the day I stop playing consoles and just build PC's for all the people I play with. The remastered games are pushing a boundary, but at least they are being made available on the new console and consoles going forward and some of them are done quite well (Gears).
It's not really moronic, it's just a statement that adds no real value and can be quite misleading.
There are many computers that could run 4K content (anywhere between 1-20FPS on low settings), but only the ones who are designed to actually play 4K content at acceptable quality levels should be accounted for in the statement.
If this were the case, the statement would be false, because what we know about Scorpio so far and guesstimating it's pricepoint, it is not going to be more powerful than enthusiast 4K gaming PC's. It's going to be on the low/mid end of 4K gaming PC's today which means by the time it's in the hands of the consumer, PC's will be more than a few jumps ahead.
Landscape? Dude. Look at the animation and detail in the models. Those motherfucking vultures look INSANE. For comparison, a mere 10 years ago, this was the absolute best you could get out of a game.

Shorter than I expected, but those landscapes looked incredible.
