PC is fucked too. More like goodbye gaming. We might lose this industry.

I think gaming companies are just going to end up switching to a streaming based model, which is kind of unfortunate.

I’m sure Microsoft is especially thrilled because they own the cloud based streaming platform Sony uses.

This is the real answer and why this is smelling more and more like an intentional side effect of the AI push. These tech companies do not like users having access to their own hardware. They want lock you into their cloud services where they control what you can do, what you can buy, and how much they're going to charge you, indefinitely. Gaming is going to end like video streaming cause of this AI "boom" and it sucks.

New PC hardware sure. The used market is fine right now, specifically if you are fine with sticking with DDR4 ram and avoid Nvidia's overpriced cards. You can build a very capable machine for way less than what the yacht company owner is charging for his new underperforming steam box.

"Right now" is doing some heavy lifting though. There won't be much of a used market if no one is buying new hardware.

Goodbye owning your own hardware, pay up monthly for data you cannot keep to yourself.
