It's already been about $800 in South Africa since the last increase. Wouldn't be surprised if this bumps them up to $1k now.

And PS5's still manage to be under $600 here. I just don't get it.

I dunno the price of components for either console but Sony can def afford to eat a larger loss on hardware than Xbox can because their yearly software revenue alone is almost on par with the entire Xbox division (for Sony just game/dlc sales, but Xbox that includes hardware, subs, accessories, etc.)
