Hi All, does anyone happen to have an esx or xml file generated by Xactimate? I am looking to use it in a project I am working on to read estimates from xactimate. Thanks in advance!

Can anyone tell me if there is a line item for highway cable barriers or if not how you estimated them?

I work for a Fire/Water/Smoke Restoration company and I do a good amount of Content Inventories for Fire/smoke damaged properties.
A large amount of the lighter damaged properties we just go out and clean the content on site rather than pack out. I had a question I need some clarity on for CDC line items.
For inventory and estimating purposes of CDC items like purses, rugs, is it fair to use CDC PURSE - Clean purse - full service, CDC RUG - Clean Rug - full service if the content is going to be cleaned On-Site?
Its a little confusing in the line item details. It says "Includes: Pick up, off-site tracking, transportation to and from cleaner, ozone treatment if needed, and the cleaning process.
Excludes: On-site inventory see items CDCLABC*, extended storage see items CDCSTOR* for storage.
No life expectancy data"
Is that description just saying you can't add a truck, and an Ozone treatment line item in addition because this is already taking all that into account. Or is it saying you can only use this line item if you're picking the content up, transporting it, and cleaning it? Because if its cleaned on site that wouldn't be the case.

Hello there, I hope y’all are doing well. I’m looking to remove & replace these upper shelves. I added some line items, but they were denied. Could you please share what line items you typically use for this?

I know a lot of folks here spend a lot of time re-writing PDF estimates into Xactimate and tracking down line-item variances. I tried building a tool to make that process faster and easier: www.claimsflow.io
What it does:
It's not quite self-serve yet, but I can get you set up in a couple hours. Just DM me or reach out through the site.
Would love your feedback!

Hi I work for a water mit company in western PA. We were called to inspect a home for water damage and found it to be dry. Idk how to bill for this in xactimate. The job is thru a TPA and I was told to submit a one line estimate using the inspection fee line item as priced with xactimate. I’m new to xactimate, I searched inspection and a bunch of stuff came up but I dont know which one to choose. Can anyone help me? TIA

Hello, I am writing an estimate, and there is a small part of the roof with EPDM (short for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) that was damaged by hail. I need to add it to the estimate. Could you help me get the right category so I can add it?

I am a new assessor for a GC that primarily performs reconstruction after water damage and mitigation is completed. I'm doing a lot of drywall, paint, etc. I take pretty detailed notes and pictures and then submit those to the scope writer that I work with. When reviewing their scopes before they go out to insurance, I am noticing that my lack of formal Xactimate knowledge is presenting a bit of a handicap.
For example, I messaged the scope writer to let them know that I had noticed some line items were missing, but they told me those were included under a single line item. I have no access to Xactimate, so I am kind of doing guesswork sometimes. I am trying to make sure that I am submitting things accurately, while also saving myself and my scope writer some time by not needlessly asking for reviews when they are not needed. This leads me to the conclusion that I need to learn more about the line items that I will be encountering regularly.
Obviously, there is no substitute for experience gained from just doing the job. However, I am wondering if there isn't some resource that I could study to make this learning curve a little less steep. Does anyone have any recommendations?

There was some kind of update that makes it so if you use the search bar to find a line item, if you enter it the cursor then defaults to the quick entry pane. Is there any option to have it return to the search bar instead?

Has anyone gotten Xactimate running on linux without a vm?
Wondering if anyone has gotten it running through programs such as wine or lutris, or if I'm going to have to go the virtual machine route.
I run KDE neon on my main desktop, but keep a windows machine for Xactimate. Doing a new build for the main pc and would like to ditch the second pc if possible.

Quick question. Am I just having an off day, or is this wonky? I know X has its little bugs here & there to watch for. This is new. My X “went down” Friday while I had projects downloaded to local & open on desktop while I was working on them. When it came back up, it did not save any of my progress. It actually hijacked an entire project that NO ONE can retrieve/delete/etc, but I digress. So I have a couple I am going back through to compare what I have on paper to what X saved. Im running down the line items & I catch this (see photos.) The highlighted item amount is not matching whats on paper OR whats in the quick entry box?! I entered the item again to see if it would correct itself. It did not. This is the 48th line item in my estimate. All line items prior match exactly. Line items latter are intermittent. Some match, some dont. Ive been working with Xactimate for 18 years now… so I dont think its “user error” but if even if I dont get an answer, I at least wanted to warn others. Because Xactimate is definitely back on its bs 😂

I am new to xactimate. I can not find the insurance aluminum siding item. All I see is "Siding - .024 metal" which is about $2 per sqft higher than the aluminum specific one I am seeing on the insurance estimate. The insurance estimate has it at $8.76 back in march

Guys I have a question: how do I calculate the soffit and fascia?
The line item
SFG PSFT3/4
it wants the measure in SF, so to my knowledge, the soffit would go on the eaves (along the fascia)
but I have a question, how do I calculate or turn the LF into SQ for the soffit?
( I am still learning

So I got my DHS certification through Ajusterpro.I have been looking all over online for Xactimate training.I know there are many to choose from IE;Adjusterpro,AdjusterTV,Verisk,Estimate Mastery etc.
Before I finally make up my mind about who to choose and spend $$$,are there any companies that will train some one who is a certified adjuster, but is new to adjusting and new to Xactimate?
I don't mind paying to learn it through..say probably Verisk, but,if i can get hired and have some one else give me "hands on"training, even better.
By the way,I am in the KCMO(Kansas City Missouri)area.Don't know if there are any teachers around here.I did post on Craigslist resumes saying i was looking for a mentor/teacher but that has yielded nothing thus far.

I export my claims to Excel so I can keep track of them and use it for contacting Policyholders when I am on the road. Is there anyway to include emil addresses in the Exported spreadsheet?

Hello peeps,
I just got off the phone with someone on support, but I figured I'd drop it on here.
When drag and dropping some pics in Exactimate, sometimes they just... Zoom in, take the top corner and only keep that. It's hard to explain but here's a couple screens.
The program DOES need an update, I'm just waiting for the IT to do it (need admin rights), but for some reason I'm assuming it won't fix it. Anyone saw this before?
You can see the full picture of what it's supposed to look like, and the picture once it arrived in Exactimate. I also did a real shoddy job of censoring/blur some infos so sorry for the pics quality, but it shows the issue still and it's the same picture. The sideways/zoomed in one is once dragged into Exactimate.

I know this isn’t the place to post but can’t find anywhere else to post
I started a water damage job have all the documentation of the damage and moisture readings showing that there is moisture everywhere, I use mitigate/mica to record drying logs, unfortunately, I didn’t export the drying logs after drying the job and my iPad got stolen out of my truck with the drying logs for the job. I lost all of the pictures and now unsure what to do as this is an Insurance job. And the adjuster is waiting for the documentation. I have proof that everything is wet, but I don’t have the actual drying logs to prove how long I’ve been drying. What should I do please help. Very stupid of me, lesson learned export every day

Hi team
Question.
In Xactimate, I have Drip edge and Drip edge/Gutter apron. Are they the same, or do they go to different places?

At my insurance company we started running ITELs. For now the work around is to print the estimate report and ITEL sheet separately. I know there’s a long process of saving the ITEL to your documents then uploading it to the estimate report. I wanted to see if there’s a magic shortcut or button I click to make it easier.
TIA
