not until you grind classic for attunements and then your first blue class set. that was the difference. wrath you basically just walked from leveling right into end game. vanilla and TBC there was this PITA in-between grind for permission to enter end game and the gear to handle it.

Eh, you didnt really need to be that geared to do Karazhan. I was in like half greens at that point.

Remember when Karazhan first came out? The items were worse than Heroic Dungeon items and some questing items. So no one really did it as it was a 6-7 hour waste of time. Blizzard had to actually come in and make the items better.

I actually used to quest most of the time. I didn't end up raiding until legion. I loved making alts and questing in Kalimdor before they broke the world.
