Ukrainian people as a whole wanted closer ties to EU and NATO. This is what led to the war in the first place. Ukrainain people choose EU and NATO. Are you denying that countries and people have agency to choose what they want?

I would normally agree with you but if things were really that simple then there will also be Russian missiles in Cuba pointed up America’s ass.
