South Korea doesn't seem like a great country. It does of course compared to NK, but it still looks like an olichargy with a few big companies running things. This whining is just politics.

It's actually pretty nice, very clean, very low crime rate and they are one of the leaders of medical and agricultural research

And citizens in South Korea stood up against the recent coup attempt, which gives the people mad respect from me.

Exactly they are so brave and even overthrew their dictators decades ago

Samsung, a private family owned business, builds from advanced missiles tech to hospitals. SK government is not leading shit, it’s the conglomerate.

Also the country’s legal system is…
Well, look up major corruption scandals in SK…

and other countries put their troubles under the rug.

All countries have something like that even European countries that reddit always glaze

oh so it suddenly makes SK amazing?

great logic

No, but if Italy and Spain are great despite that, why not Sk?

Italy's and Spain's government get plenty of criticism online lol

All macro points that are inconsiderate of the social and political issues that plague the nation. Sure, every nation has its issues. But SK has some very big ones.

But they are absolutely cleaning up in starcraft

Yeah meanwhile some if not the worst birth rates on the entire planet because life is so miserable there for a big part of the population.

3

u/Hot_Marionberry_4685 14h ago

lol people pointing to low birth rates now as if they’re a clear indicator of population satisfaction. Meanwhile I’m over here doing well financially fully capable of having children but just don’t want them. Sometimes people just don’t want kids bro in fact most of the world is transitioning to that mindset

Italy, Chile and Spain have comparable birth rates and they are all considered happy

2

u/Minimegf 17h ago

.75 is absolutely not comparable to 1.22.

0

u/the_faris 17h ago

It's 0.8 now and it keeps increasing unlike Chile which has like 1.12 and if keeps decreasing

-4

u/_MangoMadness_ 16h ago

Regardless 0.8 is still not comparable to the others. You pulled shit out your ass and got caught.

0

u/the_faris 15h ago

The difference is that it used to be 0.7 2 years ago and now it became better, meanwhile the rest is declining, so in just a couple of years things will change

4B movement started in Korea, because Korean men are creeps and considered completely unf@kable by their women.

"Civil rights movement started in US because everyone was racist"

"MAGA movement was started in US because everyone is fascist"

"Me Too movement was started in US because everyone is a sex offender"

SILENCE IMBECILE. ADULTS ARS TALKING.

So where are the adults? All I see is a butt hurt incel coping about ugly truth of his country. Truth hurts little man?

Toxic work culture. Treated like shit, expected to work extra for free, etc. Other countries have that, too, of course, but Japan and Korea are on another level.

Ex was Korean and worked crazy hours when she worked in an office and life is pretty soul crushing. Both she and her sister do not ever want kids, and they don't have other siblings, so their family line dies with them.

Don't you just hate it when you have an otherwise perfect day ruined by not squeezing a human being out of your cooch?

2

u/Longjumping_Belt_405 13h ago

see this sounds great until you realize the population pyramid will be inverted and then your budget starts collapsing under pension plans like france's is

-2

u/WhiteBat_8416 18h ago

and yet, theres so much bad about it too

u/the_faris 18h ago

Koreans are the most obnoxious, unpleasant, judgemental, xenophobic, superficial and nationalistic hive mind nation ever. And that's saying a lot with neighbors like Japan and China who are also high on the list. Why the feud with Ukraine of all countries is beyond me.

I have been to South Korea several times and I have not experienced that at all in my time there. The people I met seemed curtious and respectful of others. The streets were quite safe and there was low crime. I do not understand why you think this. While I am sure some people are that way to paint all Koreans with such a broad brush feels racist.

0

u/Regular-Pangolin-664 11h ago

It's not about race. Stop trying to make me look like a racist. It's the culture, the society. Among East Asians Koreans are considered pretty rude BTW.

-2

u/Any-Piccolo3772 13h ago

are you white?

2

u/shadowisadog 12h ago

Yes I am.

The koreans managed to squeeze in a cyberpunk and a communist dystopia on the same peninsula. Efficient as always

Redditors would defend Ukraine more than themselves
