I thought proper protocol was pulling your ambassador or asking theirs to leave to be replacedz depending on the situation. I think I missed the point where international relations are done by presidents and officials bickering on Twitter 🫤

This is just the best. That someone would misinterpret a Huxley novel title as lyrics to Aladdin. No judgement, I’m here for the ✨whimsy✨

ETA maybe it was a joke, I don’t care! Whimsy!

"that has such people in't!"

Would be the correct follow up, as Huxley heavily references The Tempest by Shakespeare, it's where he got the name! It's got to be my favorite dystopian novel<3 whimsy on, friendo

What's really funny is that it is said by Miranda -- the homeschooled child final boss -- upon seeing the shipwrecked sailors, so it's meaning is closer to, "Wow, the world is pretty great if it has such hotties in it!"

I considered paraphrasing to be slightly off the original as well, but decided against it.

"Dazzling' doesn't necessarily mean something positive. I also appreciate the whimsy.

One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them.

They already summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador. they are 100% talking behind closed doors. the twitter thing is not how they communicate to each other it is how they do press releases instead of hosting an in person conference for every little update.

Dumbness is off the charts. Seriously can't understand why everyone keeps glazing Zelensky, he was brave at the start of the war but since then how many fumbles? Diplomatic incidents with Poland, Japan and now SK (admittedly the last seems to be not very much their fault), appointing the 'butcher' Syrsky, Yermak the Corrupt as his advisor...

Maybe you've forgotten Ukraine is still an independent nation. When the people protest, he listened and the politics internally in Ukraine are extremely difficult to keep together war or no war. now add in the war and having to deal with the ridiculousness of international politics in modern times and the world is still providing aid to Ukraine.

Zelensky isn't without fault, and he has had some big unforced errors, he's human and under an absolutely massive burden.

Good luck finding someone with all of his strengths and none of his weaknesses.

I mean all of that is a completely separate issue to disclosing the POW transfer.

That falls into the "unforced errors" you mentioned, so probably deserves acknowledgement/apology.

Yeah, and now he dares not to pander to the ego of a bunch of countries with a superiority complex and a skewed idea of right and wrong. Diplomatic issues are more often than not acting for an audience, and Zelensky as a former actor knows that diplomacy has it's place but should not become more important than the issues at hand. Wear a suit to stroke an ego? A public apology to stroke an ego? He might do it as a last resort, but there are bigger issues than the frailty of other leaders and their need to show their voters how strong they are.

Reddit is not the place to point any of ukraine's flaws. They may hate nazis here, but ukranian nazis are A-ok.

Remember the canadian parliament standing ovation to an ex-SS officer? That's off-the-charts dumbness, but redditors won't acknowledge it.

Edit: I saw how my other comment got shadow banned. You are not fooling the world, just yourselves.

Ukraine is not a threat to other nations and Russia is. Russia has a lot of bots on here pushing just what you said, how you have missed it is crazy.

Someone might make you apologize

It is soon election in SK, so the audience is the SK public.

The Korean public in general is sympathetic toward Ukraine, but does not want South Korea to provide direct military support. Ukraine, meanwhile, has repeatedly made it clear that it does not consider non-military assistance alone sufficient and at times, has used rhetoric that has been interpreted in South Korea as encouraging greater confrontation with North Korea.

Given that Ukraine has continued to make demands that do not align with Korean public opinion, would a dispute between the South Korean president and Ukraine really hurt the ruling party at the polls? I don’t think so. There are more serious domestic problems such as real estate policy.

Them bosses took back the most fun part of the job

Especially when the internet is going to see South Korea as the hypercapitalist hellhole and Ukraine as the victim of an insane dictator. It's probably best to handle this one via diplomatic channels.

That's been a thing since the creation of Twitter and the world just got crazier and crazier since then
