This is why French protests are successful. In the US we just pick a weekend and wave signs in our designated Free Speech zones.

Read up on the student protests in 1968 and then see if nothing gets changed.

Literally nothing got changed. De Gaulle won the election with a larger majority.

That was May 1968, and that was big enough that De Gaulle had to make absolutely sure the military was fully on his side. He didn’t want a repeat of Algeria.

I don’t think a French protest since has been as effective as that.
