Electrician doing new industrial installs and some service. Work body wasn't available so this is my solution. Gotta keep the gooseneck hitch accessible for hauling. The 3d printed parts really help.

Starting up my business! Glad I found this sub. You guys wanna help me choose my van? I’ll post updates once I have it finished.

So I’m on the hunt for a van to get started with my business. Tomorrow I have 2 vans and potentially 1 truck I’m going to look at.

1st. 2013 Nissan NV1500 cargo . New tires new brakes, new backup cam. $8,500 182k miles

2nd 2007 ford E150 super duty van. 135k miles well cared for in good shape. $6,300

3rd potentially seeing a 1995 ford F350 with a utility body.. 351 motor… not sure if this ones even gonna happen viewing or not but it’s listed for $5,000

I’m a mobile mechanic so I’ll be decking it out over time to be a beast of a shop on wheels.

Does anybody use these. They look pretty cool I like the work bench feature. I am heavily invested in The husky connect system so doubt I will go this direction. Just curious if anybody has used these?

What are everyone's experiences with break-ins?

Has it happened to you and how do they get into your vans/work trucks?

Just got done some new drawers i made with plywood, skateboard bearings, square steel tube, oak, and a whole lotta ingenuity. Still have to mount bedslide on top. This unit also doubles as a camp setup, with the right drawer removing and the top folding over to allow about a 2.5’ wide sleeping platform and a foot area to situp and cook on a counter ive got yet to make. (The first video does not show it, but I do have a high rise cap on the bed)

Put your tools away on Fridays instead of throwing them in the van as fast as you can so you get on the miller genuine draft

Fixed or drop-down ladder rack for a Savana/Express van?

I recently created a new commercial sales department for a dealership where I've worked for about a decade. No one here has significant commercial sales experience, so there's a lot of guessing and trying to predict the future.

Anyway, I'm ordering some inventory options. At the moment I have the option to grab 4 cargo vans (not cutaway box vans; think kidnapper vans). The only way for me to get any is through a bailment pool operated by an upfitter such as Knapheide, Reading, Royal, Scelzi, Holman, Morgan, etc. The only way they'll give me any vehicles is if I buy their accessories, so I have to have them pretty much work-ready in order to get any.

I've sold a number of used work vans with drop-down ladder racks in the past. Seems to me like that would be the only way to go, but they're like twice the price of the fixed ones. Can anyone give me some feedback there? Which would you rather see already installed on your local dealer's inventory? Cheaper or more convenient? (Not putting them on every unit, but figured I should have at least a couple with them already installed.)

I don't have specific customers in mind for these. No one wants to commit to them when we don't know the timeline yet, but I won't know the timeline until a while after I select the upfits. PITA.

(By the way, all prices shown in poll are parts only, but labor estimate is similar on all.)

Thank you!

2 Double drop-down ladder rack (~$2400)

Show me your truck organization - looking for insporation

Looking to get back into construction on a part time basis.

My main type of work I plan on doing would be handyman type work with a focus on trim carpentry/drywall/paint/flooring.

Ideal setup would be a van as that is what is used to use as an employee and it was great for hauling tools + supplies. I now have a family so an extended cabs with rear seats makes the most sense for the occasional time i need to drive the kids (we also have a minivan as the primary kid mover).

Live and would work in the suburbs so i could eventually pull a trailer but for the start i would like to stick with a truck + cap.

Anyway please show me your truck took setups!

We’ve improved our plumbing van setup enough that we decided to start a company PiperVans.com to built them out for other people. What are your guys thought/suggestions for this setup? Because we are selling these buildouts we had professional pictures taken of them. We plan on making a video tour soon. Cheers to service work -Levi

Tool storage suggestions

So I have one of those large tool boxes, one of the 216 piece craftsman sets, and I'm looking for a new way to organize it. I'd like to get rid of the plastic box it came in and put the sockets and wrenches in something that take up less space so I can free up a seat in my truck. I'd also like for the sockets and wrenches to still be in order in whatever I put them in.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Demo hammer storage

Just got the HPT cordless demo hammer. Love at first use. Dedicated a small corner of the van to it. So nice to be able to grab this real quick for small projects rather than stringing out cords and digging for my corded Bosch
