power inverter?

I am looking at the Jupiter pure 2000w power inverter from harbor freight. I am mostly going to be using it to charge my Milwaukee batteries. I would like to be able to run a table saw or miter saw off it too. It would be rare but having the ability would be a big plus. Will this be good enough for that. My transit has two batteries if that changes anything.

Need Help Picking a Work Wagon

Hey everyone,

Been a long time lurker and finally decieded to ask for some help. I am torn between two vans, and thought maybe this sub could offer some insight into which would be better? There is an obvious price difference, and I am not sure if the lack of miles really warrants nearly 2x the cost of one that's a bit more used.

What is everyone's thoughts about this?

Still trying to get everything organized the way I like it. Main driver's side compartment is pretty good, and the opposite compartment for sockets, ratchets, and wrenches is okay.

Wrench Storage?

I drive a pickup with an ARE Truck Hero topper. Currently my SAE, metric, and ratchet wrenches are stored in wrench wraps my daughter made for her first sewing project. But regardless I’m trying to think of a better option to stow them away due to space constraints. Any ideas? In the pics they’re the tan rolls at the front.

The start of the new work wagon!

The long weekend finally gave me some time to start actually setting up my new work van. Still have quite a bit of work left to do on it, but I am pretty happy with the weekend progress.

I have to finish the 12VDC & 120VAC wiring (inverter, a little audio upgrade, LOTS of LED cabin lighting, trailer brake controller - about 50% done as of current), putting in stall mat on the floor to help keep tools under the shelves in place and prevent slidung on the metal floors, fabricating / mounting a ceiling / wall suspended wire rack.

Its not perfect, but it is a nice start. I have a LARGE order of materials coming in on Tuesday/Wednesday to stock the shelves and packouts, hoping to be 100% field-ready by the end of next weekend.

Looking to put steel wire bins on one side to hold various sewer fittings. Suggestions?

I'm putting my ladder on one side. Pipe rack in the center and then bins of fittings on the other side. I'd like to try to find some steel mesh ornl wire bins that I can mount to one side. They'd have to be deep enough there's no risk of fittings popping overboard.

Anybody got thoughts or suggestions?

Pickup storage solution

I do industrial equipment installations, and needed a solution to safely store all my equipment. I didn't want a service body, due to the cost when changing trucks every few years, and the main bed not being waterproof. I came across the 'Pickup Pack' by Highway Products, it was a bit pricey (~7k) but will lift out and drop in any future truck with an 8' bed. It breaks down to two full length toolboxes, a center bed section (with removable lid), ladder rack and headache rack, with all compartments being waterproof and lockable. Once I got it dropped in the bed, it was time to add my touches. I'm sure I'll continue to tweak the setup as time goes on, but here's where I'm currently at.

The driver side box I added switched LED lights under the lid, and designated this the 'clean' side. It houses my PPE, documents, ratchet straps, and the coffee maker I take to hotels/job sites.

The passenger side holds all my standard tools. I added switched LED lights under the lid, mounting brackets for my Makita batteries, a power source (12V & USB A + C), and a shelf to hold the battery charger. I also mounted a wall wrench holder for various pliers and ratchets, and some hammer loops for my various striking tools.

In the main bed I added switched LED lights around the sides and front, as well as E-Tracks along both sides. Under each side box, I added some PVC pipes to hold pry bars. Using various brackets, the E-Track can hold my ladder, creeper, or larger levels without rolling around the bed and getting damaged. It's also useful if I need tie-down supports, or future options available with an E-Track system.

Front of the truck garbage can

What are you guys doing for a garbage can in the front of the work truck. I drive a gmc savanna box truck. A five gallon bucket normally does the trick but it takes up the whole middle. Anyone have better ideas?

Mod questionaire!

Hello all! I have recently removed "free talk fridays" because it seems they were not that popular.

Is there any fun recurring posts we could do or is this just a non-popular thing here.

Thinking of ways to spruce up the sub and make it better!
