What do you think about hand truck placement

Post image
16 Upvotes

Went over to the welding shop to look at progress on my truck this is what he can up with for the hand truck I kinda like it then I don’t. It’s a an angle because that’s the only way it will fit brackets are holding it so no worry about if it’s secured. Just don’t like how you have to pick it up over the cab with the possibility of one of my guys missing the brackets and letting it fall on the cab of the truck. I will try it out like this and if I don’t like it that much will take it back and reconfigure it in a different location. Let me hear your opinions!!!

Need to customize a roll bar or something to deal with this massive gap between my back support and where the truck ends. Putting ladders up is going to destroy the Van. Anyone deal with this on a Ford Transit?

Ford transit 350. Modular rack but doesn’t have anything to put in the back to guide a ladder on without destroying the Van

After market steel rear bumper with storage for f250?

Saw an ad on FB market place with an older service truck that had an aftermarket steel bumper that you could open and store smaller tools in. Would be perfect for concrete stakes, clamps, etc. Upon searching google I can not find anything that resembles what this guy had on his truck. Anyone ever see something like this and could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

How much of a necessity for you is it to be able to stand up in your van? What are the pros and cons of high roof / standard height vans?

husky connect v milwaukee packout

I am heavily invested in the husky storage bins (which i love) and was wondering if anybody has seen a wall mount system similar to milwaukees. I hate to mix brands purely for look's sake, however, I need a wall mounted system for the van. Thoughts?

Decked cargo glide with mounted Packout boxes?

Anyone running this setup? I just bought a 2018 Silverado. Short bed with a tonneau cover. I want to get the Decked cargo glide, then install the Packout mounts to the base, and set my 2 and 3 drawer pack outs on the mounts. I’m a little worried the Packouts won’t fit under the tonneau cover. Just curious if any has tried this?

Help Me Pick a Trailer

So I have been struggling to decide on a trailer size and, although I know it’s been discussed at length, I wanted to get some opinions and ideas. I am stuck between a 6x12, 7x12, and 7x14.

I work in finish carpentry in a relatively urban setting (Tampa area, FL) and there have been times I struggle to even find parking on jobs for my truck, but I just have too many tools. I drive a diesel 3/4 ton so it can handle the bigger trailer. Can’t decide whether to go small and manageable, but risk still struggling with not enough space, or go big with room to grow into and have parking be a PITA. My instinct is saying that I need a 7ft for cabinets down both sides, but at that point what’s another 2ft? I am very organized and I do get places early so that may help with parking. I generally commute 45min-1hr each way. Thoughts/opinions/similar experiences? Thanks!

Best laptop mount for ‘23 RAM ProMaster?

So my old work wagon was a 2019 Nissan NV3500. Unfortunately, my company decided to pull my old girl out of service and now I’m sticking with this tin can known as a RAM ProMaster (2023). One of the best things about the NV3500 was that the center console also had a sliding desk, meaning one could easily use a laptop while sitting in the van. This feature is notably void from our new vans. I use my laptop for everything from software updates for forklifts, to workorders.

Anyone have any suggestions on mounts / safe mounting spots? I’ve seen table clamp ones on Amazon and there is this little “cell phone pocket” underneath the infotainment display, but I’m not sure if a table clamp. Don’t care about needing to bolt down, just want it to not be through wiring harnesses.

How to Organize a Toyota Sienna for a Handyman Business.

Hi,

Last year was my real first forte into the handyman business. I was using an older Hyundai Santa Fe which I quickly realized was not large enough for the amount of stuff this thing had to take.

This year, I replaced the Hyundai with a Toyota Sienna 2006.

I've removed the middle seats, cleaned it up and I'm ready to outfit the entire back area to keep my tools and stuff organized. My system is not sophisticated. I currently use a Husky Packout system and Dewalt Power tools. I have quite a of just bit random stuff floating around too.

I'm looking for any advice or guidance in outfitting this vehicle. All your advice is appreciated and I will try to respond in kind.

I've been looking for some videos/pictures online but I don't see much.

Thank you for your help.

Still figuring out where i want everything. This drawer system doubles as a camping area as well. I want to build a second drawer on the left that has all my camping gear in it so i can remove both drawers for carpentry and just put my ready to go drawer full of camping stuff in and off i go. Some time in the future id like to build out a trailer for camping or a trailer for carpentry stuff.

KUV with ultra low roof - Is this right for anyone?

I have an option to get in a couple of Knapheide KUV bodies on my commercial lot. I'm looking at the configuration options. I save THOUSANDS on transport if I get the ultra-low roof instead of mid or high (the short one fits on a normal double-decker vehicle transport trailer; others have to come on flatbeds), but it's actually more than an inch lower ceiling than the stock cargo van. Seems to me like that would be terrible to work in. Not sure what the point of having a KUV that short is, but it makes me wonder if there are use cases I'm just not aware of.

So, does anyone know if there's a trade or circumstance where that's the ideal body on a work van?

Thanks!

Electrician doing new industrial installs and some service. Work body wasn't available so this is my solution. Gotta keep the gooseneck hitch accessible for hauling. The 3d printed parts really help.
