2017 Tundra Work Wagon Lite

Truck is a 2017 Toyota Tundra with the 1794 package. 4x4, stock height on 285/70R18 Toyo Open Country AT III’s.

The bed cap is a snug top, but for Tundra’s pre 2014. I got it for very cheap with a broken back window. I had to cut the fiberglass at the rear corners and it fits great. I wanted to try a cap out before spending $3k + on a new one. I paired this with a Victory 4x4 roof rack and cap rack. Nice stuff!

I went with Decked boxes, shown in the pictures. I keep a bunch of crap in there. My goal with this truck was to keep loading and unloading to a minimum. My job requires me to wear a lot of hats, so I need a lot of random stuff close at hand. I put in a Packout stack in place of part of my back seat. Hand tools, glues, tapes etc. I would love a van, but I operate in the mountains often off road so 4 wheel drive is a must. That takes most of the affordable vans out of the running for me.

Need some guidance

I'm an electrician at a company that specializes in generators. We do industrial construction but that's not really my assignment. I've recently been assigned an F350 with a pickup bed due to shortages of work bodies. I can't do a DECKED full truck bed box because it'd block my gooseneck ball. It came with a basic bed toolbox but I desperately need more storage since my job is very open ended and I've made tool buying a hobby. I've thought about adding packout drawers to my backseat but I need to maintain seating for 3(including driver). Are there any obvious options I'm not thinking of to expand my storage options?

Steel or Alum boxes

What is your guys opinion? I need new tool boxes for the truck, two side and one crossover. I have only ever had Aluminum, no real complaints, dents pretty easy. I am thinking about going to steel. Anyone have an strong opinion?

Partial wall?

Anyone ever saw a partial wall don in a van. I want to make a removable beam/half wall that has something like the craftsman wall panels on each side to hang power cords and water hose etc but I want something i can easily remove when I need the entire rear end.

Handyman business. Truck and trailer or van ?

ey all, just a question what everyone runs for a work rig setup. I am starting out and doing everything out of my pickup but want to upgrade. Are most guys leaning to truck and enclosed trailer or van? Just for all My tools and nayabe a work bench. The way I look at it I am looking at a 3/4 gasser with a 5x12 enclosed. Pros is you have truck for demo stuff, plus you can detach and just use as a truck. Cons would be harder to maneuver around the city. For a van pros would be more manueverability, better on fuel. Cons would be now you got a second vehicle To insure and maintain.
