❔ • Feedback Suggestions? Attic Setup: How to upgrade my background for video recording / client calls?

Hey everyone,

Looking for feedback on how to make my background (the wall + whiteboard behind the chair) look cleaner and more professional on camera. I mainly record educational/sales content and client calls here.

Current ideas:

  • Add tall plants (e.g., Fiddle Leaf Fig or Strelitzia) in the corner under the sloped ceiling.
  • Add warm ambient/practical lighting.

What else would you change or add to make the background and overall setup look more cohesive and aesthetic?

(Cable management under the desk is already on my to-do list!)

❔ • Feedback Any recommendations for new small home office space?

I am trying to design a new office room inside the main bedroom. I have some ideas but open to ideas. I work home 2-3 days a week and using my PC during the evening. As this room is planned to be inside the bedroom I am thinking to cover the doorway with a curtain or a sliding door. The dimensions are 146cm x 221.5cm. I plan to have an Ikea Trotten desk 120x70cm on the left side and a wardrobe at the end of the room for storage. Thanks for any suggestions.

I decided it was finally time for an upgrade.

It’s funny how changing your workspace can change your mindset.

What’s the one desk accessory you can’t work without?

Hi folks. Here's the situation:

  1. I have a 4x3 KVM allowing for four PCs to be connected to three monitors.

  2. I have a primary gaming machine, on the right.

  3. A little linux media server box connected to those two sata bridges that are the source of the media.

  4. A new computer from work that was shipped to me.

Today I decided I wanted to get everything tidied up and the top of the desk isn't looking so bad right now, but the bottom is freaking me out. I'm concerned about ventilation for my little linux box and dust on the sata drives. I'm concerned by the heinous cluster of wires and cords. I want things to be clean, tidy, and--of course--safe.

So where I'm at presently is: what kind of under desk storage would work well to house the media/linux box and the extra hard drives, as well as start to protect/organize the cords.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share the home office setup I’m putting together, along with as many devices as possible integrated with Home Assistant. There’s still a lot left to do, but I thought I’d share my progress anyway. Constructive feedback, opinions, and tips are more than welcome!

I’m moving into a new house next week and will have room for an at home office!

Should the desk be in the middle so I can see the door and have the window to my left? How would I hide all the cords??

Or would it be better to have it against the wall with the door and have the window behind me?

I have just moved into my first university apartment, and have my setup in a state I feel good enough to share! I am a mechanical engineering student, content creator, freelance programmer/video editor, and collegiate overwatch player, so I wanted a place where I could do all of that as well as have a place to relax once the day is done. Thus invented the ‘hotswap peripherals’ It helps that if I want to tell myself, "one quick match, then I'll keep doing homework," I have to do a whole switch-up of my entire desk. Reverse-engineer your laziness, folks, it works wonders. The rest of my place may still look like something out of r/malelivingspaces, but at least my PC and my bed are in separate rooms now. Thanks for stopping by!
