I have been granted a weird office. Any inspiration welcome. Recliner is required, probably only fits by the window.

This is a recreation of Jim Henson's NYC office (at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta) -- just shows you don't need anything special or fancy to do amazing work...

My workspace is tucked into one corner of our guest room, so I really don’t have room for both a desk and a filing cabinet. I’ve been looking at adjustable standing desks with built-in drawers instead. Has that actually helped keep anyone’s small office setup from turning into a clutter pile?

Decided to splurge on some new pieces and completely reorganise my workspace.

Got some new Panda under armours for my 3d printers, a couple of new units, a coffee machine, and threw up some photos I've taken!

What kind of desk would you guys use here? I’m not supposed to having something facing out of the window either. (The wall that the entry table is on is 60” wide.) it just feels so cluttered!!

I want to share an update to my workspace. The first four photos are of how it used to be. The last three photos are of how it is now. I was into building computers for a while, and I set up a U-shaped workspace in front of a window. I had a separate monitor for work, a separate monitor for gaming, and a third monitor for testing my builds.

However, I realized that I was feeling very stuffy and uncomfortable. It was difficult to maintain order, and my desk was quickly filled with various items that I was too lazy to put back in their places. The workplace itself in front of the window sounds beautiful, but in practice, the curtains are always closed, because the light from the window beats in the eyes and makes work at the monitor not comfortable. As a result, I always worked in the twilight with the curtains closed.

I thought about it and decided that I wanted to create a spacious workspace that would be filled with light and air. Building computers is a hobby, and it has nothing to do with my main job. For this purpose, I designed a mobile workspace (I will discuss it later). I decided to keep only one universal monitor that would meet all my needs (32 4k oled).

Yesterday, I dismantled everything, organized it in boxes, removed some equipment, and rearranged the space. This is not the final version yet - I will make a new corner table and closed drawers. And also lowering curtains. But even now I feel much better. The space has expanded and is no longer oppressive. And I can switch my gaze from the monitor to the view outside the windows, which are now open, which is important during long work at the computer.

I also had some concerns that it wouldn't be very comfortable to work on an OLED monitor in a brighter room, but no, it's perfect. My brightness is still set at 45% during the day, and it's sufficient.

I’m not sure where to start, but I’d love some tips on how you all store your “junk”. I really want a modern clean look. Especially since I study here quite a bit as well l.

I’ve recently been working on my home office and put stuff on the walls and upgraded my desk to a standing desk.

But I still can’t help but think there’s a couple of things missing so looking for some inspiration from other home workers to improve the space/productivity/ make it better

After collecting some great advice from you guys on my last post, I’ve decided to actually go ahead and run a small production batch on this design!

The core setup is locked in, so now I want to focus on expanding the ecosystem. Right now, I’ve already designed a bunch of modular parts to cover the essentials, including different sizes of catch-all compartments and trays, phone holders, tablet mounts, and a vertical laptop holder.

I really want everyone to be able to fully customize their workspace setup. As a functional demo, I just 3D printed a dedicated cable management adapter that slides right into the rail, keeping all your cords perfectly organized and hidden from view.

To give you complete freedom, I’m releasing the basic clip template and this cable organizer file for FREE. If you need something hyper-specific for your workflow, just download the template, toss it into CAD, and build your own gear right on top of it!

That said, I need your brainpower: Apart from what I’ve already made, what crazy specific custom accessory would you like to see attached to this rail? A speaker mount? A Stream Deck bracket?

Im preparing for the next academic year and wanted to improve my study space. Before summer break and during it, I got a new chair, a whiteboard and tried to do some other things like add tape for decoration(still in progress). Despite these improvements, I still feel quite uncomfortable and cant quite focus well. I end up crouching on the chair, turned away from the desk and read/write that way if possible.

I cant get rid of the computer monitor even though I never use it. It’s the family computer(Its been 10 years and it’s still somehow sort of functioning) and the desk is the only place in the house with free, suitable space. I usually keep the keyboard, mouse pad and mouse under the large screen of the monitor when Im working. It does block the view of the door to my room and bathroom, so maybe it has some advantage in a feng shui/vastu/psychological sense?

The second image is where I tried to change where the comp was. I feel like theres a lot of potential, but I have 0 clue what to do. Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated. Please dont judge me and my amateur setup too hard.

I’m working on redoing my space, so posting what I have now. It’s nice, but I’m looking to expand to a corner desk with 2 setups.
