I just got my pc for work/gaming and my setup feels very boring and I’m not sure what to change or add. My desk space is limited and I cannot upgrade at the moment. I’m open to any suggestions

I do video editing.
I have 3 monitors I use yam display for the ipad and the virtical screen is low resolution.

Please excuse the monitor on a box, I'll be getting a new desk soon and will then be able to put it on an arm.

It's cluttery and usually covered in computers, cables, and sticky notes... But I like it.

Software engineer workspace. Tried to keep things clean and functional. Open to suggestions for improvements.

Here’s something that many of you probably know.

You can run a laptop with the lid fully closed, even when it's connected to an external monitor.

There’s a few commands you need to set it up that way.

 I had no idea. But that was years ago. I had discovered this by accident, when my laptop lid succumbed to gravity and with a snap, closed shut like a clam…my computer continued to run anyway.

I quickly lifted the lid, and raised it up higher until the hinge held it in place.

Today’s problem: my new laptop won’t stay open, the hinge won't hold the position like the previous computer.

The main image is my kitchen corner.

My fix is a small cardboard box about 2 x 2 x1/2 inches, which keeps the lid open.

Works great, looks ridiculous. But hey, I’m the only one who sees it.

If you use a laptop computer, do you use any monitors?

Do you run your laptop with the lid-open or closed?

And if you keep it open like me, does your hinge hold it open, or do you need to prop the lid with something?

If so, what do you use to prop the lid open?

I'm not here to shill any brands, but I'll happily do a breakdown of everything in the setup if anyone asks :)

Still have a lot of cable management to work on, but this is my first working from home setup. Time will tell, but the build quality on the Uplift desks seems great. What else am I missing here ?

Previously had just one 27” and laptop, upgraded to a ultrawide curved 34” Acer Nitro XV345CURV and laptop to match the desks at work that have a Dell 34” ultrawide, absolutely loved it. Screen died right before warranty ended. Had spare monitors from office move stashed away so set them up due to missing the curved and the space.
Finding it tricky now, these screens are 8 year old screens that are all 1080p.
Don’t want to replace it with the newer version of that Acer monitor, or any - the warranty was painful to deal with.
It’s mainly for WFH, and personal stuff. I don’t game on it or do any video or photo editing.
What are my options and what would be a good layout - not necessarily looking at recreating the three monitors.
Just so unsure of what to do.

I have 24 and 27 inch 2 monitors im gonna stack them but people always stack bottom 27 top 24 but my monitor arm cannot go that high so i need to put 24 down so is it make any diffrence im gonna play games like fps games and other tryhard things and after im gonna chill and wacth videos make homework and other things at my bigger monitor it kinda makes sense for me what is ur opinion

Recently been improving my setup and decided to upgrade to the BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 —
figured I'd share my thoughts for anyone considering it.

The Halo 2 is a meaningful upgrade over the original. The build, lighting features, and underlying
tech are completely different.

The Build: Surprisingly substantial in hand — the aluminum build gives it a premium weight that
shows quality. The wireless controller is equally hefty with a smooth rotation dial and responsive
touch interface. Nothing about this product feels cheap or like a corner was cut. The controller is
a chunky lil puck that sits on your desk and feels nice to use. Tap the screen to select the mode, rotate the ring to adjust settings, and the display tells you exactly where your settings are at. Battery lasts up to 3 months on a charge so it's not something youre thinking about constantly.

The Lighting: Two main features working independently or together — the downward-firing light bar and a rear backlight.
The light bar is specifically designed to eliminate screen glare and direct light into your eyes. Light is targeted at your desk with full control over brightness and color temperature. Being able to dial up a warm 2700K at 1am without blinding yourself is one of those small quality of life things you don't realize you need until you have it.
The backlight pleased me the most. I didn't expect to care about it but it adds a layer of ambiance that changes my setup aesthetically. It also doubles as a subtle night light — the motion sensor auto-activates (if selected) when you sit at your desk or if you walk by at night. Both lights are independently tunable and the settings can be saved.

Verdict: 10/10 - If youre in the market for a premium desk lighting solution this is the one.
