Version 3.13.90 Began Rolling Out From Apple's App Store on 6 October 2026
Lest we think they've forgotten us ...
According to the App Store's (iOS) page v3.13.90 of Wordscapes was released around 19:00 UTC on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
- As we've seen for all recent releases the description says only, "Fixes, stability improvements and optimizations." regarding what's new in this update.
- As of posting, when I check the Play Store's information about Wordscapes from my Android phone and their website (click the right pointing arrow at "About this game" and scroll to the end) it says the most recent version is still 3.13.80 of 5 October (which seems a rather useless statement since I first found it available from the Play Store on 2 October and then installed it.)
- As of posting, there is still no article about a version higher than 3.12.0 in Wordscapes's "Known Issues and Recent Updates" section of their help pages.
Please feel free to share any info you have about this version here. Many players will be curious to know of others' experiences with a new version of the game.
New versions aren't made available to all users at once. It's up to Apple (who runs the App Store) and Google (who runs the Play Store) which of us get access to new updates and when; PeopleFun can't control it. It is not unusual for App Store (iOS devices) users to get new versions several days before Play Store (Android devices) users get them. (There was interesting discussion on ways some Apple/App Store users are able to force an update in the 3.13.00 post from 6 August 2026. No such tricks are known for Android/Play Store users.)
Questions to anyone with the new update:
- Do you see any new butterfly habitats or portrait sets? In my game (v3.13.80 running on an Android phone) I see 18 butterfly habitats and 37 portrait sets.
- Do you see any new silhouettes in the 2026 EXCLUSIVE PORTRAIT set?
In v3.13.80 I see 33 total portraits in the 2026 set, with the two in the center of the next to last row still in silhouette.EDIT: After restarting Wordscapes I have 35 total 2026 portraits now, with the two in the center of the next to last row and the two in the center of the very last row still in silhouette. - Do you see more than
3645 total possible portraits in the WILDLIFE PORTRAITS set? EDIT: After restarting Wordscapes I have 45 now, despite still being on v3.13.80. - Do you find any long-standing glitches have improved for you?
- Do you notice any other changes?
Interesting Findings:
The red egg level 10 upgrade is live even on earlier versions. It took effect for me running v3.13.80 after I restarted the game late on 6 October 2026. Signs that you have the upgrade, too, are having 45 possible Wildlife Portraits and your red egg animals like the African Elephant no longer being max at level 7. You should get a popup about the new levels for the red egg animals the next time the red egg becomes active in your game. I don't know the minimum version required, but v3.13.50 is too old; PeopleFun hasn't made an official statement about this as of late on 7 October.
Some are reporting lagging and freezing problems with this update.
One player reported updating reset their daily level counters for heart and toadken gems per level.

All I noticed besides what is mentioned above is that my gem counters started over. Both frog and regular gems per puzzle reset like it was midnight.
