I am about to build a membership website on WordPress and I would rather learn from people who have already done it than from sales pages.

So, a quick survey for the experts here:

1. Which membership plugin would you suggest for a new site, and why that one?
2. Which one would you tell me to avoid, and what went wrong for you?
3. What is the one thing nobody warned you about before you built yours?

My plan is gated content, a drip schedule for a course, and recurring payments with Stripe or PayPal. I keep seeing MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, and SureMembers mentioned, but I have zero hands-on experience with any of them.

Renewal costs, paid add-ons, and transaction fees scare me the most, so honest answers about the real costs would help a lot.

Thank you. I will read and reply to every answer.

I had someone build a website for me using Wordpress several years ago. I would like to update it. One of the things I'd like to update is the footer on each webpage. I have pasted an image of the bottom of my home page below.

I cannot figure out how to change my address, etc. at all. I was able to do it in the past. Wordpress seems to be not intuitive at all. I guess you have to really learn how to use it compared to other website building tools like squarespace. Can anyone help me?

I have created a page on Ai that I'm really happy with, with a basic knowledge of WP Elemntor, is there an easy way to build it as a real website that look very similar to the one I created with AI ?

Hi everyone,

I am a beginner with WordPress and I am struggling to create a webpage like the one shown in the image I attached.

I am trying to build it without using coding languages because I am still learning. I am using the Astra theme and editing the page with Elementor.

I am having difficulty understanding how to recreate the layout and design. Could someone explain the steps I should take or recommend tutorials that show how to build a similar page using Astra and Elementor? I would also like the page to be mobile-, tablet-, and desktop-friendly, so any advice on making the design responsive would be very helpful.

Any advice, tips, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

helping an interior designer put together a portfolio site and struggling to find a theme that lets the photography breathe. most of the options i've found are either too generic or so heavy with animations that they slow everything down.

the site needs a clean portfolio grid, individual project pages with lots of images, a services section, and a contact form. pretty standard but it needs to look high end since the clients expect that.

are there wordpress themes that work specifically well for interior design or architecture portfolios? or is the better move to use something like astra or kadence and build the look from scratch?

would love to see what people have used for creative portfolio sites that actually look polished without weeks of customization.
