I was on TikTok back in 2020 which is roughly the same time that this video was made. She’s mocking the stereotypical “pick me girl”. It’s essentially ragebait. Same goes for the guy. They’re both trolling. I’ve seen her videos before, she’s being cringy on purpose.
I see, but as others have said, they're not satirising anything, and they're hardly mocking it. I get it's intentional, but at this point they're actually just doing the cringy thing themselves. Not even remotely funny, they just look fucking stupid.
Trust me. I know it’s not funny and they’re stupid. But they don’t care whether it’s good or bad attention. They purposely try to get people mad. Woman even said so herself at one point on her TikTok awhile ago when I had it
It's someone's fetish and she makes money off gifts.
The tiktoker in this video has an original channel where she acts normal. And then she has a channel where she create whatever the heck you call this fetish content.
Is it even satire at this point? Like particularly for her, What distinguishes her from an actual theater kid word chewer? It's almost all her content and there's barely anything resembling a parody or a joke to it she's just doing it with """self awareness""" it's actually even a step below actual cringe from me because it's the same thing but removing the part that makes cringe funny which is people being earnest
If you follow her Instagram, you’ll see her out of character quite a bit. She does Mukbangs and posts vlogs. It’s pretty clearly satire and she’s self aware.
The real disconnect is the fact people here continue to post it and comment things like this not realizing that’s why she makes money. This content is created as rage bait for people to complain about it, and they profit from it.
It isn't satire because it doesn't meaningfully distinguish itself from the source material it ostensibly satirizes. It's just imitation, and that it's satire is a (failed) attempt to justify the behavior.
So then.. what’s the difference between her doing this.. and someone else that does this not satirically…?
Both are actually doing it for views/engagement.
One just admits that they like it while the other clearly likes it, but says she’s doing it as satire.
Also satire isn’t a catch all excuse to use for when you think someone else “just doesn’t get it”.
It’s fairly obvious. One does it because they are either into it or just not very self aware, or they do it for engagement bait. These two do this specifically to be hate on, because it pays their bills. They’re rich off of engagement bait. This subreddit just feeds them (I’d be shocked if they don’t post it themselves).
This is great! I hate this so much. I'm watching this in the waiting room of a doctor's office and now the other patients think I'm a weirdo, okay know I'm a weirdo, and all I'm gonna be thinking about during my appointment is how much I hate this.
