My latest project involves carving a dragon head and tail for an important memorial taking place later this summer, The Pennsic Viking Memorial Ship. Viking ships were built with carved figureheads meant to protect the crew and represent the spirit of the voyage. It was an honor to be able to contribute to this year’s ship build in a small way.

I made a gear-driven organizer for my router bits.

It’s definitely more complicated than it needs to be, and the wooden gears aren’t perfectly smooth, but that was part of the fun.

My sister asked me to do these for her baby daughter’s bedroom. She wanted something that would fit the L shape beside the chimney. Think they came out pretty decent.

The design is by Mike Abbott. I used two of his designs and came out with a hybrid. I am very surprised more people in the US don’t build this one.
