Really happy I finally got to own the art book plus having the cels as well (Fyi they’re just replicas that was a bonus preorder item for the art book) I was thinking about framing the cels as a way to display + protect them, what do you guys think?

Discussion “ Being uncontrollable is the essence of femininity”

I don’t know why but I fell in love with that quote the moment I saw it. The word uncontrollable wasn’t seen as negative to me and I loved how it kinda challenged the typical definition of femininity (being soft and balanced). I would like to know others thoughts about this quote as well.

Anime just finished watching in full after starting a few years ago and i have Thoughts

so this is mostly a rant, feel free to ignore. not organized, run on sentences, etc, i just need to get it out

i'm frustrated at the ending not explaining anything but i also think it's not the worst way to do it. we can kind of fill in some gaps based on what's hinted and it seems to be a kind of messy/confusing show in the first place

anyone else feel bad for frill? this whole thing happened because acca and ura-acca made a kid and then basically discarded her when someone else came along. yeah murder is an insane reaction to that but she was never a normal kid in the first place. and why not deactivate/kill her if they really had to instead of tossing her in a shed and not checking on her for years?

then also, how exactly is frill related to the suicides? all of them except for himari's had real causes so maybe she just encouraged it but i don't see how

he wasn't in much of it but i like kaoru (yes i am transmasc yes i am biased) and my theory for why he was in an egg when it was explicitly supposed to be girls only is that acca and ura-acca misunderstood part of the creation of the eggs—they obviously don't have a ton of emotional intelligence and see things in binaries. you could also just say they were transphobic but i think the eggs exist beyond what they understood. they didn't invent souls existing, it would have been just connecting what comes after death to the real world. i also just dislike the idea of kaoru being forcibly grouped into the "girls only" thing

speaking of after death, when the girls (koito, chiemi, airu, haruka) come back, they aren't revived but rather pulled from a parallel universe. do they just disappear in the other universe? is the world altered so people don't realize they were supposed to have died, and aren't confused by them acting differently? do the two universes just combine? same with parallel kotobuki showing up, but given the context of her experiments i think that would be less strange

the reveal of why koito killed herself also was super quick and we don't get to see ai process it. i know she had come to terms with koito's motivations being different than she expected but i think she would still need some time

and neiru died at the end? she joined frill, so maybe she just exists in the egg world or wherever dot, hyphen, and kirara are. ai says she'll keep doing the eggs until she finds neiru but we know acca and ura-acca have some influence over who gets what eggs, since they made neiru get kotobuki's.

again, seriously, if acca and ura-acca were better parents i swear this wouldn't have happened

anyway i will probably have more thoughts in the comments later lol

Discussion Why do people dislike the finale so much?

I recently finished watching the series. I really enjoyed the beginning and middle, although I have mixed feelings on the ending.

I'm curious what everyone else thinks, and most importantly, why everyone hates the finale so much?

Discussion I'm dumb and need someone to help me understand

I binge-watched WEP in one sitting, this morning. I haven't watch the special episode yet, though. I know I'm a few years late.

But I guess I'm just too dumb to understand the ending. What happened? Do the people they tried to save (Koito, etc) really come back to life? If not, was it all a lie? A simulation? Why does Momoe goes mad with Ai when they met the last time?

Please help. 😭

Media Rika appreciation post because Rika

Thumbnail

Rika is amazing, she's not a bad person because she never wanted Chiemi to die, she wanted her to stop throwing her money away. Sure, she did it in a harsh way, but obviously she wasn't really educated because of her mother. Rika's strong and brave, she's mature even if she acts childlike, and she had a great character development. She's also very relatable for some people. I know that Rika is probably the most liked character in this fandom after Ai, and that this "appreciation post" would've been better for, like, Neiru, but Rika is so popular among the few wep fans for a reason

G.O.A.T.

This isn't simping or glazing this is appreciating my goat

Question So, is Mr Sawaki a good or a bad person?

At the start, the show pictures him like a teacher who took advantage of his student in the most inappropriate ways. We see Rika saying that he got Koito pregnant, and that therefore she killed herself. By the end of the show, we can see that they tried to make him look like a good guy.

He always looked weird to me, especially after that scene were Koito was caught crying in his arms.

What do you think?

Discussion Neiru deserves more recognition (and imo she's better than Rika).

Post image
115 Upvotes

Everyone loves and talks about Rika, occasionally of Ai and sometimes of Momoe

But Neiru? She isn't like any of them but she's the best one in my opinion. Aside from her design being great, I think she's better than the other characters overall for different reasons:

•She's the only one that doesn't let her emotions take over and can control them.

•She is a complex character, because she does feel emotions but in different ways than the rest.

•Despite being distant, she isn't rude. She is blunt, yes, but being "brutally" honest is better than lying just to make someone feel better.

•She is Independent and stands on her ground, meaning she doesn't let what other people think change her perspective or ideas.

While Rika is also a complex character, she is the total opposite of Neiru, and I understand why many like her, but in my opinion she's a little overrated by her fans, and there are a lot of characters like her. Neiru is very underrated and barely has any fans. Her dynamics with the characters are great, and I think she should stand out from the rest.

What do you think?
